BlackKnight & stabilio... you guys know it... but I want to say it
publically.......
"YOU ARE MY PEOPLE!"
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix

There's only 1 Hawkman Currently for DCU's ....He came out in Wave 6, the Kalabak Wave. He is Fairly Common, and shouldn't fetch more than 20 in reality, probably up to 10 bucks off for loose. If I had an Extra 1, I'd hook you up. He's pretty close to The Super Friends look ..., and really looks so much Like an Updated Super Powers Figure.
He is also currently at ToyRus packaged Hawkman with a MOTU Stratos Variant for 29.99 . Same Hawkman Figure .
I actually own About 7 different Hawkman figures..., and also Hope to get the Brightest Day figure, However for what you Wish to achieve with your Collection ..., I'd so Roll with the Wave 6 DCU Hawkman.
I think I'll opt for that one then. Wasn't sure if there was a difference in that He-man set. Getting him and adding the Wonder Twins should get me where I want from the Hero side.
BTW ..., The DCU Green Arrow, Brainiac, Giganta , Firestorm, Solomon Grundy , Flash, Captain Cold & Cyborg are all very Nice and pay Homage to the Super Friends. Giganta & Grundy are The Build a Figures, and can be spendy at times. Just throwing it out there.
Not sure what I'm gonna do with the LOD yet. Brainiac and Giganta are tempting but Giganta is gonna cost. The Cold and Grundy don't quite give me the Superfriends vibe. And the lack of a suitable styled Grodd and Bizarro along with the unlikelihood of them ever being made is offputting for me. I may just hold off for now.
Green Arrow isn't a necessity to me as he wasn't really a part of the show. Firestorm is a maybe as I enjoyed the "Legendary Super Powers Show" but I can pass on Cyborg as I was not a fan of "Galactic Guardians."
I have all of the DC Direct Super Friends figures as well...., I was very disapointed that the Hanna Barbara End of the Heroes and Giganta were never covered ..., it's why I thought to start getting them in the 1st Place.
Ideally, DC Direct would have completed them all years ago and I'd be a happy camper. But I'm happy they got at least to where they did. Hawkman is the biggest disappointment missing from that set. They actually made a Superfriends Flash a couple years after carded as a single figure under "Reactivated"
I've got shipment confirmation on this wave 18, so they should be here soon.
Apache Chief was never one of my favorites on the Super Friends. I liked the heroes from the comics better. But once I put this figure together, the Chief instantly became a favorite
The other figures in this set aren't so bad either. (They are certainly better than my photos.
Toyman, Bronze Tiger and Captain Boomerrang
Black Vulcan, Samurai and El Dorado
Bane isn't so bad either.
Golden Age Joker is really nice, too
But this version of Mr. Freeze leaves something to be desired to me.
Anti-Monitor is slick, too, but too small. More of mini anti-Monitor
Thanks for posting pics! I think I need to get this set. I have the Bane set due to all the bat-goodness.
I'm all about that Legacy Joker, but Mr. Freeze...I'm not sure. I know they were going with a Super Powers vibe, but the SP figure didn't have THAT much purple.
And the lack of a suitable styled Grodd and Bizarro along with the unlikelihood of them ever being made is offputting for me.
Grodd NEVER... but I wouldn't be surprised if they make a nice
SA/BA Bizarro... not surprised at all.
As much as I was weened on the COT SUPERFRIENDS, I've always
preferred a more comicbook looking approach to toys... so I haven't really
been phased by most of the choices made with DCUC... altho' it does suck
that the SUPERFRIENDS DCD line wasn't completed... because then there
wouldn't be any bones about making the more stylized versions of the
characters on COTSF more stylized versions of the characters as seen in
the cartoon.... would've been nice.

The DCSH repaint for the 2-pack in the linked thread is still not exactly
a SA/BA looking Bizarro akin to the SF Bizarro, but the colors match up...
and I think the cape is even NOT "ratted up" like the original DCSH one.

Unfortunately, that won't cut it for me. I never really read comic books, so aside from the COTSF, Bizarro didn't even exist for me.
No... I hear ya.
There WAS a few issues of Superman and SSOSV tho' where I thought the
Bizarro was drawn practically IDENTICAL to the Superfriends version... so
that's why I'm banking on him appearing more like that in a future DCUC figure.... possibly. While the Grodd would be an impossibility.... unless
of course, it was a straight SUPERFRIENDS tribute.
At least the Bizarro repaint in the Faker pack is a step in the right direction.

These arrived today and I love all 4 of the figures (not going to be keeping the Tiger or Boomerang guys. I'm going to pick up the Hawkman. And I'll monitor the Wonder Twins. I may even pick up some of the others like Plastic Man, Green Arrow and Firestorm if the mood strikes me.
As for the LOD, I've been looking around. I will likely pick up a Brainiac. And I will think about Giganta, Grundy and Captain Cold some more (I'm entertaining repainting). I also came across a DC Direct Grodd that might have some repaint possibilities. The Bizarro I don't think will happen but if I do these others, I might possibly give it a go at sculpting a head and putting it on a DC Direct SF Superman. Depends how ambitious I get.
One thing I've noticed is that action figures have changed dramatically since they last time I bought one in terms of articulation especially.
I do have one question for those of you who might have experience with this. I put together my Apache Chief and there seems to be a problem with his right leg (on the left of the photo below). The center portion which I circled seems to belong to the left leg - the swivel cut does not line up and it matches the left leg piece exactly. I'm assuming this was a factory mistake and that not all of them are like that. I'm not happy with it. Is this worth trying to contact Mattel and get a replacement or would I be wasting my time? I just feel like this was an expensive group of figures and I should get what I paid for.
