Actually they do. You can sign up every year. 2012 subs will be offered during the week of SDCC this year.
You just sound really bitter because you missed a few figures...well, that's life. If you join the game late with ANY line, you're going to have to play catch-up.
Can you name another toyline that reissues previously released figures so you can complete your collection? I can't.Check out http://www.neo-fighters.blogspot.comComment

Distribution and prices have pretty much knocked me out of collecting DCUC and MOTUC. I can't pay $15 plus tax for figures that I can barely find. I have to add gas costs to that equation too. I actually bought a few of the earlier figures but that was before the price hikes. I also will not pay and even higher price for the MOTUC figures that seem to sell out before I can even get to the site to order, speculation has killed it for me also. Subscriptions? That's just too rich for my blood right now. I guess one needs to have a mixture of patience, will and cold hard cash to collect from Mattel. I think I will hop over to their site to let them know just how I feel.Last edited by Thor; Mar 13, '11, 3:45 PM.sigpic

Yeah, Mattel has disappointed me in one way or another.
I was collecting the MOTU figures that were re-releases of the original and I got them all, which of course, wasn't easy. (When is it easy to find toys in toys stores nowadays?)
And as awesome as the 4 Horsemen's work was I just never bothered to support the line when they modernized it.
Mattel dropped the ball on the 10" JL figures and never finished the Teen Titan wave of the same scale. Then I got into JLU figures, but the longer the line continued the more difficult it was to keep up or *surprise* find. I stopped after I bought the exclusive Giganta from Matty. And what annoyed me was how Mattel could have made the figure a little bit bigger to fit into the 10" scale of which they'd recently discontinued. 2 birds with one stone. But naturally that didn't happen.
Finally, I got into DCUC figures, but I have incomplete figures as far back as Grundy and as recent as Imperiex. So I've given up on that line. At the nearby Wal-mart they were clearing out the Ultra Humanite wave, but my wife put her foot down and said even at $10 a pop it was a slap in the face for the toymaker to charge what they should have all along and after so many waves never correct the dist. system.
I still will support the retro line, I have not bought the 4th wave yet, but burn me once...Comment

I will never forget that time. Waiting at Walmart 3AM in the morning hoping that they will put out a MOTU case or it will be a case with secondary characters. Instead of a million Skeletor and He-man figures. I had hoped Mattel had cleaned up their act but that was grasping at straws I guess.sigpic
