That would make sense. Some store managers are just a bit more generous than others.

I get a lot of cheap figures from the Home Bargains store chain, who sell surplus stuff from all the big toy companies.
Everything from Star Wars, to Star Trek, Indiana Jones, Marvel, DC, Harry Potter, Transformers, Doctor Who, Yu-Gi-Oh... basically any line that they can get hold of surplus stock from.

For those of us here in the U.S. our equivelant type of store would be Deal$, Dollar Tree and or Family Dollar. Places like that.

Every now and then they get in a bunch of figures and blow them out for a buck or so. I just bought a bunch of the new Star Trek figures a couple of months ago. Before that I had bought up a bunch of figures from some other movie. I cannot remember the name now.

I do not mind paying a buck a piece for them for customs and what not. I sure am glad that I did not load up on them when they first came out.

The $6.99 price was for Infinite Heroes. Neither of the Targets around here has stock people that can tell the difference, though. I always find them mixed up together because the size difference isn't enough for the average person to tell them apart.

I completely agree. Every store has it's own inventory issues and what needs to be moved to bring in product that will sell. Like we have already seen with TRU and the Retro Action lines, sometimes this means changing the prices too. Of course I think retail managers forget how this can get out online and ultimately hurt their efforts. It's a small world afterall...

At all the walmarts in N.H. the price of the Joe figs has gone back up to $9.99. Funny because at the same stores you can buy the 10 and 12 inch versions of the movie figs for the same price.

I really wasn't at all turned on by the new Rise of Cobra figures. I did not even buy one of them. Not for retail price anyway. I did actually run across one new in the package though for a fraction of the retail price via thrift store. So I said what the heck. At least I can say I have one now for whatever that is worth.

Personally, I look forward to seeing these ending up in the dollar stores being blown out for a buck or two a piece. Even at $4.50 they were still just kind of keeping the pegs warm at Wally World. I really do not think that they went over all that well. Kind of like the new Star Trek figures.

I bought a few of the Rise of Cobra figures ..., There was some Jems in there imo ...

                      Doc
Firefly ( both of these were Toyrus only)
                      The 3 Snake Eyes
                      The 3 Dukes
                      Baroness
                      1st Storm Shadow
                      Hawk
Swat Team Guy ( I only seen this 1 at Specialty stores)
                      Black Suit Scarlet
                      Shipwreck
                      The Doctor ( Cobra Commander)

None of these are peg warmer's either...., at least not here.

I really liked all of these figures. I think they were well done imo. Most came with so many weapons and stuff, which added to the fun. I also picked up a Tank at Target, that opened up to where a Helecopter came outta of it. It was a repaint of something, but was so Highway Man, it was cool.

I bought up the 25th anniv. Joe figures. Those were basically where I had stopped at on my 3.75" collection. I liked them better because they reminded me more of the original 80's first release Joe's.

That is not to say that I will never buy the Rise of Cobra figures. I am hoping to get a real sweet deal on them later on. At least that is my logic of thinking anyway. Only time will tell.

I could see the exclusive figures being keepers. The other figures that I have been seeing around here locally must be pretty common stuff that everyone either already has or does not want. ???

Here's a pic of SDCC and note the "ARP" (Actual Retail Price?) price on the tag...$6.99. Not $7.99 or $8.99. Is Toys R Us and Target price gauging?

I would so buy these if they were $6.99...but that is not the case. The Thanos, Yellowjacket, and Hawkeye would be on my shelf in the future if they were the ARP price.

I think alll stores pretty much price gouge to some degree. Sure they need to make profit that is one thing and completely understandable. In most cases the stores are still making money even when they put them at half off to "blow them out".

Then there is the ARP price which you mentioned above and then there is the WSIWP price at the retail stores. What Some Idiot Will Pay.
