I was in Toys R Us the other day....

...and I am looking for wave 2 of the retro action figures. Nothing...nada...zilch. So I start browsing other lines and I see the Marvel 3 3/4 or 4 inch line that has something to do with shield. I start going through the peg and I see a 1940's Cap and Bucky...and I'm like "These are going home with me..." I scan the price on them and I was STUNNED....$7.99??!!?? Are you F'n kidding me??!!?? When did small figures get to be the same price as what the Marvel Legends used to go for? Needless to say...Cap and Bucky will be sitting on the peg. I can't believe that Hasbro is trying to get that much for 4 inch figures. That's insane. Sorry, I just had to rant.

Seems to be the norm for hasbro, as star wars,g.i.joe, and marvel are all priced around the same.

Try buying them up here in Canada. Even with a dollar thats been pretty much at par for a couple years now, we still get stabbed with a 9.99-11.99 price tag on these!!!

I just had the same experience at target, saw JLU Plastic man, thought it was a great figure for my son, didn't even look at the price. These things have been $4.99 forever.

Checked my reciept $8.99? It was more than a bag of coffee!

I got whammied on multiple JLUs in the past month. At $8.99 apiece I'm going to get real picky. I bought Junior an Atom and a Plasticman, but Brainiac and the rest can warm the pegs. I finally found a B&B Firestorm, and with the JLU Atom I bought with it I was at $26.98 before taxes. For that kind of money, he can make do with the STAS and SuperPowers oldies he already has from now on. It's a jolt that two of those JLUs things cost almost as much as an EMCE or a Mattel Retro. It's crap like that makes me really appreciate the new Scooby line of 2" figures for $3.99 for a two-pack.

I'm still baffled why we're paying so much extra up here in Canada for figures in the regular retail outlets when we have been at par with the US dollar for so long. And for the stuff we don't get in our Walmarts, Zellers or Toys R Us, can run $12-15 in the comic stores. Up to $20 for the larger sized Legends and DC stuff.

Our Toys R Us aren't even carrying the Retro line it seems, so we're paying up to thirty bucks in most the comic shops (although there is one place in Toronto selling them fro $25).

I can't stand the price of those things. If they were 6 bucks, I'd be a completist, but that's just a REALLY high price point for them. I would LOVE to collect the Secret wars packs but those are all 15 bucks! Crazy...

yeah i cant believe small figures are costing so much! it's absolutely ridiculous. i remember when all those lines came out they were at 4.99 -$5.99 price range, but once they started getting popular the prices started soaring.

Yeah, I remember buying 12-back SW figures for $0.79 each. Now new ones are over 10X that amount? Bah.

$20 for a retro action figure doesn't seem so bad compared to that now.

I think we should all boycott the figures and let Big Lots blow these suckers out at $4 each. That's how I got a couple of the JLU figures a few months back. Picked up a couple of Dr. Fates, Superwoman, and Sinestros. I think Big Lots near me has the GI Joe figures for $4 each...and they aint the Movie figures either. There the retro line. If I knew anything about the GI Joe figures I'd buy them up. These are the times that I really miss KB. I used to love the 3 for $10 dump bins at the front of the store.
