My guess is, they probably didn't know what they were getting themselves into. They had a big hit with Star Wars and wanted to jump on the next Sci-Fi blockbuster. Which, unfortunately for them, turned out to be an R rated very un kid friendly violent gore-fest. It was a different time and I think we can admit that had the 3 3/4 inch figures actually been released they would have bombed. As collectable as it is now, the big Kenner Alien sold very poorly when it was released and was on discount for years.

I am so giddy over this, and I check every thread often for updates, but...
I'm thinking of going on blackout mode until Christmas Morning. I'd like to open them and be surprised at the identity of the sixth figure, rather than just read about it on the internet.Comment

I missed the super 7 preorder for these and am dreading the scalping for the mystery figure.
If anybody here ends up with an extra (ha!), I'll swap a bbp dalek for it.

Just got mine today! I haven't opened them yet, was planning on waiting, but I may open them now.
