I just turned 40 a couple weeks ago. On my birthdays as a kid I would always get adventure people as much as star wars and since star wars stuff would fly off the shelves where I lived I would get more adventure people toys. My mother kept all our toys that we didn't destroy as kids and my niece plays with them today.
On my birthday a couple weeks ago my niece was on the ground playing with one of the action vans which has stood the test of time. I got it for my birthday in 1979. I picked it and just stared at it thinking of all the good memories I had with it. My mom brought out our family albums later that day I found a pic of me opening that same toy on my bday in 79 and the excited look on my face! I got really choked up..I would love to post the pics but my scanner is down for the moment.
Well that's my story and keep the stories coming! Adventure people was as big as star wars or gi joe in my childhood!
Awesome story! Hey you can always take a picture of your picture with whatever type of digital camera/phone you have. In many cases it works well enough

I know right! The zen of my story was although its just a toy I saw my life go by as I looked at it. the sendimental value of those adventure people toys that lasted all the years is priceless compared to how much its worth! Oh yea another fact that same Van went through alot as a kid and despite the beatings it took its still in great shape and looks new! Today's toys not to much.

I LOVED these as a kid. Very cool to see this again.

Mina is the world's first Paranormal Petsitter in the new middle-grade book series by Gary Buettner, MONSTER PETS, coming in FALL 2014 from EMBY KIDS. Spooky adventure that's perfect reading for kids 8-12

I thought I would help out a bit with the Alpha Probe price. I went through my Sears Canada Christmas Wishbook's and the first time the Alpha Probe appears is in the 1980 catalogue (page 276) and it retails for $34.99. A year later in the 1981 Wishbook (page 202) the price rose to $39.99. It is the second most expensive Fisher Price item listed in 1980 with the FP record player coming in at $49.99

Interesting, maybe I am remembering it wrong? The only fact I do know as the price of it being the reason my mother never bought it for me and as i mentioned being a bit spiled 40$ forher was bot a big deal. I think maybe Kaybee was charging more for it
