    Mexican figures and bootlegs

There was a black torso Thor bootleg on ebay not to long ago that said it was from mexico. What other bootleg figures are out there? Do some bootleg figures have the mego copyright on the back? The Thor had white space:1999 style boot legs and a plastic head.
THOR MEXICAN BOOTLEG TYPE MEGO NO LILI LEDY - eBay (item 290379501380 end time Dec-15-09 1855 PST)
These pictures should be downloaded and put on the mego-like website. I can't believe it went for so much. I'd like to see more of these! Does anybody have any figures like this?
Did Lili Ledy make figures we don't know about? And who made the bootleg figures?

I have never seen a name of a company that made them, but there is a consistency in the vintage ones that is very MEGO and Ledy. They are crazy fun figures, and I agree that the price on this one was nutso! Though, at the same time, it's the only one I've ever seen. Dunno about the rest of you BootlegHeads . . .have you seen a Thor like this before?

But seriously, there is very little known here.

I know that Brian Palitoy has a nice bunch of booties He'll jump in here at some point, I hope.
And Luis Felipe is another good resource, and I've been hounding him for some info. So, I'll report back.

I also have another contact who wants to sell me some groovy booties, so I'll get whatever info I can from him.

It's a bit like trying to figure out if John was really the Walrus

Of course, I'm now thinking of Brian's thread: Weird Ledy Batman head

Brian, if you don't mind, I'm gonna put that pic here with the other two I posted above:

                    Wasn't that one painted black?

I think that both black heads are part of the Vintage Ledy Knockoff Bootleg sub-group.
The black paint under the chin paint is the same to my eye. Pupils added to Brian's, pupils deleted from mine, which is which!? But all three are the same sculpt, the original obviously the blue one

I believe this toy was most likly made in Mexico, but I have "Doubs" about it's rarity and value. And not without good "Razon". I fear that some collectors go crazy for something they have never seen before. "Wow, that must be the rarest toy ever cause I've never seen one before." I could ebay off some of my Mexican bootleg toys and call them rare and impossible to find. Doesn't mean they are not currently available in stores in Mexico. There is a good "razon" we in the US have never seen these toys, it's called copyright and licensing. Without it, these toys tend to stay on the other side of the border.
I'm not saying this toy isn't rare, it could be. Still I think I would rather have the Mego Thor for that price or less. I hope for the winner sake, that this figure is trully rare, and not just in the US.

Since we live in the US it is rare here. That's all that matters.

And "everybody knows" is the beginning of a lie.
