I like the hands and feet, but not the head. Looks more like Werewolf of London especially in those B&W pics.

The only set of UM action figures I know of to have Chaney, Karloff and Lugosi likenesses used for the characters are the 8 inch ( non cloth ) ones Sideshow did from 1999-2001. Not sure about the 12 inch ones since I didn't collect those. That set had awesome sculpts though articulation was limited. Still one of my favorite UM sets ever. I'm sure NECA will have the same likeness rights restrictions on thier new 7 inch UM that Mego has. As for the new Mego Wolf Man he looks great. I have the EMCE one but I'll buy him anyway.

I have a set of Valentines with his likeness HUGE on the front of the package. Apparently Sarah Karloff wasn't on board with Universal during that period. It's really interesting to look at monster merchandise over the years and see how the relationships go.

Yep. I think the Lugosi estate as a rule has always been very difficult to negotiate merchandising rights. After seeing generic Draculas for my entire life, I about fell over when Mego released a figure with Bela likeness. It still doesn't feel real to me. I remember somewhere around the turn of the century there was a healthy marriage of Chaney and Universal images around Halloween time. I need to check my stuff for exact dates, but you saw the Chaney Wolfman on everything. I think its probably before the Chaney estate sued Universal, because that happen around 2003 or 2004. Its been relatively quiet by comparison ever since. I think Sarah is a bit more savvy with her dealings on the Karloff side and keeps her dad's image out there quite a bit. I never have understood the reluctance on the other estates to chase after a bigger pay day, because limited exposure only reduces their profitability which hurts newer generations who might have wanted a piece of that action.

That is disappointing news. I’d also like a Chaney Kharis figure. I’d settle for a Tom Tyler Kharis

This is an interesting read on those rights you reference Brian. It sounds like Universal has a general license on Dracula and Wolfman. But if a company wants actor likeness included, then the individual estates of Lugosi and Chaney have to work out a deal separately. Geez. What a pain.

Great photos, but I can't help but be disappointed we didn't get a new sculpt with Chaney's likness, especially since we had official Chaney, but non-official Universal werewolves in the last few years. Looks like the style guide art is very generic on the package as well, so the Chaney estate and Universal must not be getting along this month. Bummer.

It's still a nice figure. I like my EMCE one a lot.

Just noticed in the Greg Brady packaging photo (better photo seen on ebay) that Marcia Brady has a busted nose as seen in the episode when she was hit by a football. "Oh, my nose!" Later, football stud saw her huge nose and broke their date--"something suddenly came up."

I agree, Aunt Hilda with Samantha or wicked witch outfit and Grandma Walton head, Marsha with Samantha head with hair style fix up, the outfit I'm sure FTC has something.

I just saw the Samantha photo today. This is my favorite of the new female Mego figures. I don't think it looks much like Samantha, but it's a great figure regardless. I think she would make a great girlfriend for a '66 Batman villain.
