Love the Elastic Heroes commercial, although it still bothers me that Batman stretches. Superman could have been infected by Red Kryptonite or something.

The Star Trek commercial is interesting. I didn't realize the saucer separated. That idea floated around for years until TNG finally used it.

It is neat, but how were they going to distribute that? Sell it with a canister of helium?

And why do all Mego commercials have dubbed over actors?

I had thought previously that I grew up in the Mego era with nary a Mego anything to my name, despite my fondest wishes. But after watching that last commercial, I remembered that my brother and I had the Elastic Superman! In addition to that, I had the Sentry Robot from The Black Hole, which just wound up being part of the Star Wars gang. But it was still a Mego.

So that's two, anyway!

I have definitely enjoyed these. Thank you for posting these up. A lot of movie and tv tie-ins but none use any of the music from the source material I've noticed. I guess that could have been an issue of needing further licensing or maybe lead times were so different that these commercials were made before the movies were scored. Would have loved to have heard that Black Hole score on the commercial. And I want a Palomino too!
