I appreciated that Mego tried to improve the sculpts when they introduced the 12" line; that Batman 8" sculpt was awful, why would they want to replicate it in a larger scale? The 12" Captain America sculpt was much better, too bad is was about 50% too big!Comment

8 inch, 12 inch, now 18 inch, it's getting ridiculous the taller the figure the higher
the prices go, when will they start making the life size Mego WGSH? instead of
remaking bigger what they already have, I'm sure they can come up with something
new, like repro Starsky and Hutch or WGSH not made yet.Comment

That's the spirit!!!!!
Don't tell anyone, but the word on the street is that next week there's going to be a slight variation in the texture of the oven mitts that will flat blow your mind. I'm hoping they go super crazy and double down with both matte and semi-gloss.Last edited by The Bat; Mar 14, '15, 5:19 PM.sigpicComment

Going from 8" to 18" has to be a good thing, right?.

WOW!.these are really novel.interesting-super-sized Retro-megos,i like this stuff, looks very expensive,i would like to collect them all, however
i am concerned about space,i already have a lot of retros from figures, emce, bif bang pow,etc in a lot of boxs, and iam planning on Superfriends,Justice league,Scooby-doo,Marvel retros and other "8" which will be more boxs .I probably will get some of these but certainly not all.perhaps batman, superman
and if they do shazam & Wonderwoman .i hope they have good success with these.i just hope the boxs are exact replicas of the old mego boxs, that
will be a very hard pass on any for me.Comment

I like the Robin, and plan to get him if he looks like the prototype figure. New eight inch ones don't look like the original, so this is better. As far as new characters, if the large ones sell well, they might make ones Mego never made. If you want an eighteen inch Apache Chief, this is probably why they can make him. They couldn't make a giant body for just one figure. Molds are way too expensive for that. I predict Apache Chief in the new 18" format coming soon!Comment

"Just like they were when you were a kid, only BIGGER! Gentle Giant is proud to bring you... "
Looks to me like the same reasoning behind both products. They would look good in places around the home when they're used like furnishings.
Just saw the "What other 18" figures do you want to see?" threadLast edited by KOMonger; Mar 14, '15, 9:16 PM.Comment

THAT would my positive addition here. I am assuming these characters are the front line because they sell consistently. If that opens the door for say Apache Chief, then great. If churning out variants keeps the line going overall and gets us more characters also a plus. Also if someone wants these and enjoys these awesome. I can tell you why I don't bash things I may not personally want 1) No one is placing a gun to my head to buy any of it. While I am am incurable collector I also have some sense of focus of what I want/what I am trying to accomplish. If something fits in (say the Mattel LOD villians or FTC Catwoman, Riddler and Wonder Woman because I have none of those carded) I will buy them. If they don't fit I don't buy 'em. 2)Someone else may love it. I've said before, but probably not for awhile it's nice to see the different ways people collect. As much we all love this stuff if our collections were all exactly the same I think it would make things a bit boring.Comment

I am certainly not suggesting that, to be clear. Nothing wrong with any of those things. Sometimes I just think people get a little too bent of shape, IMO when the announcement isn't something they want. My opinion only.Comment
