I'm torn between the David Abrams stuff and updating the existing galleries. I enjoy seeing the early rack toys. I know I have a few of the 60's dealer catalogs somewhere I could contribute. But I know theres not alot of interest in these, so there's the galleries. I think the best gallery right now is Star Trek. IMO its perfect.... outstanding pictures, carefully researched information and very well written and designed. It has a flow to it, almost like your reading a book where a lot of the other galleries seem choppy. Alot of the other galleries could also use some better pictures. I can't believe celebs has a such a big lead. You bunch of pansies really want a Cher gallery?

I voted for the Clown Arounds... They interest me for some reason. I know nothing about them either.
The Fighting Yank or the Daivid Abram's stuff has my interest too. Not big on the Celebrities.

Yeah that's because Kevin really brought the goods to that section, thought it out and made it work. I'd love to find a Kevin for every section.

What I would like to see is a sub forum(like how it started with SciFi w/monster movie round table) for all work in progress, questions about anything custom ect.
The current custom forum would be for any and all COMPLETED CUSTOM projects, figures, heads, playsets, boxes ect. The custom forum is just to small for all of the great customs this community is putting out now. It is such a shame to see peoples hard work pushed off the board by questions and WIP. I beleive they should have a seperate place to be addressed.

I voted for fighting yank, as it fits neatly within what the museum is doing now, and frankly the museum gallery isn't that informative on the subject.
However this is the MEGO museum and there is SO much stuff out there to document. The games are plentiful, as are the early mego items... a co-worker of mine bought a diana camera. It came with a book documenting (among other things) the many variants sold under other company names. One camera (complete with original box picture) was made by mego... The "megomatic". It would be fun to see a lot of that stuff, but would it really serve the constituency of the museum?

I know the task would be huge but are there any plans to further the mego scarcity index to include boxed and carded items?

One idea might be to have an Improvements Forum. Within that forum there could either be dedicated threads to single subjects of interest, or even subforums if a particular topic warranted it.

The idea being that they could be collaborative efforts that many people could contribute to leading to enough information to either update a section or create a new section. This would help spread the workload among several contributing members, almost like a wiki.

                  Just a thought.

I voted for the Dave Abrams stuff. Until I got Benjamin's book, I had no clue as to the origins of the company. It would be nice to know more. I also really like Type3's suggestions about breaking Customs into sub categories.

I gotta say I like John's idea as well. It is a shame to sometimes see finished customs being pushed to the second page because of questions and WIP pics. Questions have to be answered and opinions should be shared, so those topics would best be addressed in a customs subforum

I went with Fighting Yank. It is a big part of Mego history, especially the original one that got them sued by Hasbro. I've only found little blurbs about it in GI Joe books.

Or there could be a subforum just for Matt's WIP threads.

I like the current galleries and don't care bout other toys from the period that aren't one or the other super hero any or non superhero 8 inch.

I am currently thinking of expanding into AJ and would love to see more detail there. After that I wouls like to see more detail in the lion rock.
Do we have a special place for toys that are not really in any category but are mego definitely for use with 8 inch? For example the BP car that we discussed a year or two ago. I think a character like JJ would better fit in this category as well. There were a few other over seas mego figures that could go here like Kasshyk (or whatever it was called). Maybe the Tera playsets too.

I realize we have the "other toys" gallery. Maybe these could go there?

i am with those who said Fighting Yank as well.

And WRM mentioned improving the scarcity index. That would be nice. Also, in it maybe particular items could be mentioned - for instance Supergirl is rare but what is really rare are her stinkin' slippers.
