I haven't found any megos lately at the flea markets or yard/estate sales I try to hit when I can, but I did find a couple of weeks ago a Bionic Woman Halloween costume (Ben Cooper - Solid Box) that was in mint condition, paid $10 for it.

the one flea market I go to every now and then has been getting a little better at having some misc. older stuff ... most are beat to heck and not worth the effort.
I have found a couple nice deal on common vintage stuff ... but nothing jaw dropping amazingComment

I found a complete Planet of the Apes horse for $7 a few months ago in a toy box labeled half price. It even had the battery cover. That made my year altogether. Couldnt get to paying it fast enough.Comment

Hey, how much for the naked Batman with chewed ears and missing a foot and someone painted a bat symbol on his chest?
$65???
Keep it!

You mean to tell me that you would pass on that deal? That is a RARE HTF variant. There is only probably less than a couple of thousand of these known to exist. hahaha LOL!!!
Enjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009

i want to move to where you live. 95% of the flea's around here have closed in the last 4 years, auctions around here are always farm equipment and yard sales are just plain crap. Thank god for eBay or I'd have to find a new hobby.Comment

This past Sunday I found a near mint LJN SWAT Hondo for $5! I found it at a HUGE fleamarket that's held at a drive-in over in Willimantic, CT. They also had a pretty good Action Jackson w/beard, but seeing I already own a few of him I let it pass. I hadn't brought much money with me and wanted to keep a few bucks on me in case I found something else too. Unfortunately I didn't find anything else..... so far!
I'll be back before they close it up for the season. Fingers crossed I'll come across something else really cool like Hondo again.MY GODS ARE SMALL...... AND PLASTIC!

There's a big outdoor flea market in Phoenix but it's too far to bother with plus they charge admission and 85% of it is Chinese crap or Mexican CDs. Not only that but it's not even 1/2 the size of it's glory days back in the early 80's. I've gone twice in 10 years and I think the only thing I bought was a spare key for my car.
Very disappointing.
Haven't done the yard sale thing in years. Not the early bird type and everything good is gone if you wait. Plus you have to fight the snowbirds off. You'd think they couldn't live without more crap in their vacation home.

Even at flea markets, dealers know the value.
Often, they are also quite insane.
Last month, one had a vintage GI Joe, naked, and with his lower legs and hands missing.
He wanted $30.
He also said that "hands and legs could easily be located on the internet".
I told him this item was priceless.
And I meant it: price...less......

True story.
Eight years ago, my Mom found a mint ST Romulan for $1.
She thought it was "some sort of knight".
I freaked out when I got it!
I just wanted to share that with you guys.....

The flea markets around me have tons of older toys, problem is, you have to get there at 4AM to get the stuff. There are so many toy dealers at these places, if you get there after 6-7AM, you would think there are no vintage toys at all, or they are all overpriced. We call them "the flashlight brigade" and I admit, I was once one of them. All the vintage stuff is snapped up before the sun rises. Maybe your markets have the same type of group. Ever try going during setup in the wee hours?sigpic "Only an apostate would flee to the Forbidden Zone"Comment
