Yeah, unfortunately X-MEN didn't really boom until after the Age of MEGO, but it would have been cool to have seen them in that format. I would also have loved to see Morbius, Kang and Whiplash (as rendered by the great Gene Colan) as MEGOs, too...

What two Marvel characters would you add to WGSH?

sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon. -

>how the heck would you make a MEGO Devil Dinosaur?!?
I probably shouldn't mention this before I secure another one for my custom.... but the Aurora T-Rex model is about the right size.... AND the original was red. Just need to make that weird black horn Kirby always drew over his right eye.

Hawkeye and Vision, easily..
(Hawkeye would be cheapest, using GA quiver mold dyed purple), new face and outfit. DD would have been another easy one.
Villains..? Doom and Red Skull..
These only make the most sense.Peace.. Through Superior Firepower.

Wow, almost everyone's on board with Dr. Doom & Spider-Woman. Both good choices. I would love to have both of those. I'd also love a Dr. Strange and Vision too.
I would have added Captain Marvel and maybe The Punisher or Moon Knight. Tho truthfully Punisher and MK were not as highly visible at the time. Of these 3, I thought Moon Knight was really cool. I only started liking classic Captain Marvel recently. The advantage with the punisher tho is you have all those weapons and accessories left over from POTA and AJ. Punisher could've been pushed as a soldier of fortune/adventurer instead of a psycho vigilante in the late 70's.
If we're talking villains Loki and Red Skull or Killkraven. Take a Klingon head and modify it for Kilkraven with a new suit. I have to ask tho: is there any evidence that Mego ever recalled figures that weren't selling well and switched heads and costumes to a new character? It's taken as a given but I've never heard of an instance where they did that to eliminate a poor selling figure for a new one.Comment

As fun as what some of the posters have called "selfish picks"... there
are probably about 15 Marvel characters that'd keep the line thrivin' longer
than a LOKI-level type choice.
RHINO and ELECTRO are my "selfish choices" and even those'd
be likely to help the line more than LOKI, despite them not being heroes....
and that's all due to the SPIDER-MAN '67 show... not that THE LIZARD did
all that well for Mego.
I think the only characters that may have helped the Marvel part of the
WGSH line thrive woulda been male heroes....
...specifically DR. STRANGE, DAREDEVIL, GHOST RIDER, SILVER SURFER and NAMOR.
Being a member around here for so long, and "reading up" on Mego/WGSH,
I'm convinced that following the release of those 5 characters... and maybe
DOOM and RED SKULL for kicks... the WGSH line (the Marvel part anyway)
was due to fizzle out."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

My vote is for Dr. Doom, Dr. Octopus, Sandman, Rhino, and Scorpion. I do not think that Mego would ever release the Red Skull due to his political ties etc, just my opinion. Spiderwoman, Kraven, Silver Surfer and Namor would have also been good choices as they were popular comic books when I was a kid in the 1970's.Comment

Power Man(the other great, black superhero) and Iron Fist. I have every issue and loved that book. That's a totally selfish thought, but those would have been sweet(Christmas).
Daredevil and Doc Doom would have been the obvious, no brainer choices, though.I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.Comment

I would second that Random Axe! I dug that team, and they were super 70s!Comment
