Interesting that they are apeing the Mego designed outfits. I like 'em. Hopefully they will sell well enough that they can do different eras later on. It would be awesome to get a 1979 style costume set.

It will be really interesting if the 12" Paul mold is the same.

They are doing Sonic Boom figures as well. That's where your seeing the Singer, Thayer heads. Not the same as the ones advertised here. If you go further down you see the Mego ones being used for these figures. Go to KissonLine to see all the cool stuff. They also show prototypes of the 12 inchers. Now THOSE look EXACTLY like the Mego's right down to the face paint. Interesting...

I like the vintage heads. The likenesses on the proto new heads are not very strong. I think they had a chance to improve on the originals. But then again, I have almost no interest in Sonic Boom figures. Maybe they will do new sculpts for the other eras.

I think the finished product will have the same Mego style paint and hair. The protos are just that. Protos.

They did a heck of a great job with the announcement. Having fully finished prototypes without overlarge heads and gorgeous packaging ready to show makes a fantastic first impression.

I never collected the original ones. The necks on the 12 inch seem off to me. Were the originals that way as well?
