    These look great to me!
So let's see: I'll only have to but the new 8" BSG, SMDM, Dr. Who, KISS, STNG,...

I'll just explain to the wife: no vacation this year, honey...

The Star Wars Gentle Giant jumbo figures come in clam shells , so this sounds right.

Oh, man... I hadn't even thought about The Elder. That would be amazing... a hard sell, but amazing. It would be fun to put together a door/knocker custom piece to display with the set.

I think the fact that they are even considering tackling their look from the first album and Dressed to Kill means that just about anything is possible. Destroyer has been done to death in Kiss figures but those would be must-haves, too. It would also be pretty sweet if they branched out into their superhero personas and gave us an Abner Devereaux and one of the white werewolf robots from Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park. Those could be a retailer exclusive or something.

Man, I hope this line has some legs because as excited as I am about the 8" vintage recreations, I'm more excited about what may be coming down the pike.

I may take some heat for this, but the Elder costume for Ace is my favorite one he ever wore.

                Still going

We are still making 8 inch megos for Diamond Select and working with
BBP on their figures - although not designing them - and we are still
selling our Create Your Own Zombie Kit - and we will always be out
looking for properties that make sense to "megoize" - BUT other
types of product sell better to larger audiences and are easier to
                make.

Dr. Mego is not going anywhere, but not everything EMCE makes is
going to be MEGO. Did anyone here see the Cthulhu snowglobe we
made? Diamond Comics will be showing some of our new products
at Toy Fair - I think you will see that we have been very busy.

Hope these guys give us a lot more great Re-Mego figures in the future now that they are back in the game. At the same time I am so excited about this news I read that EMCE has " moved on " from Mego. Kinda gives me the same sad feeling I had when I read that Retro Heroes had been cancelled. There's still a lot of really cool properties that have not been mined that I would love to see EMCE do. There are still a lot of characters I would love to see EMCE add to thier existing lines, especially original Star Trek.

If that ends up being the case, then I will probably move on from EMCE. Be a shame to not see them doing Mego-ish figures in the future.

Thanks for the clarification Paul. I wish you guys the best on your non-Mego inspired products and I do realize that other types of products would sell better to other groups and benefit your company. I do want to encourage you guys to stay in the Re-Mego game with or without DST or BBP. It was your company that started this whole thing ( high quality anyway ) and I would hate to see you guys make the decision one day to totally abandon Mego inspired figures. As for all the good properties already being mined, that statement is very untrue. I won't list the 100 or so properties that I would like to see Megoized but James Bond, The Beatles, Hanna-Barbera and more POTA come to mind.

I think it's amazing how we were all so sad at the death of the RA line and how the news of this KISS line is so inspiring. Amazing how for the last month, we discussed no one being interested/willing to shell out the kind of up front cash KISS would want.

I am so excited for 2012 I cannot even begin to tell ya!!

No kidding, TMC--I suspect I'm going to be scrimping like crazy this year, there's so much stuff coming out, both 1/9 and 1/6. Like Gorn Captain said, we have SMDM, BSG, Dr. Who and now KISS...looking forward to Castaway's 8" Flash Gordon and 12" Ming, too. It's going to be a great year, and we should enjoy it while it lasts. Lot of cool movies, as well. It's a great time to be a geek.

You know something I always thought would be cool? If they sold the heads rooted but UNPAINTED. Sort of like a customizing kit. So if you wanted to leave them unmasked or paint them exactly the way you wanted them to look from a certain era, you could do that yourself. I'm sure at some point CTVT will be able to just sell the pieces. Why not turn the heads into new product and make them part of a custom kit? Just a thought...

That's a great idea. I'd jump in. It sure would be a lot better than painting and customizing Evel Knievel figures into Kiss like I did as a kid.

I wonder if Paul and Gene would allow something like that but it would be really cool. An instrument pack (guitars and drums) would also be a great addition, down the line.
