I sold Leo an expensive comic at SDCC last year... he smelled of heavy smoking though, when he came to our booth (didn't know if it was him, or he was just in a smokey room, but he wreaked)...

Wasn't Leo's Solid box Robin that sold at Hake's for something like $12K?

Yeah, if I was really a super-villain, I'd be making plans--Umbrella-bombs at the ready!

Good luck, Imp. This makes me so sad for some reason--it's been such a challenge to collect even nice loose Megoes, I can't ever imagine letting them go.

At least we'll all have your wonderful book.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

          Hake's didn't have Leo's collection. Morphy's did.

Hake's sold a Kresge RM Robin for $12K+, not a solid box Robin. It was not Leo DiCaprio's.

            Auction

just my 2c ...I had been toying with the idea of keeping or selling my collection, but with news like this, if I can pick up some kewl pieces (like that display box) then I will keep my collection in tact!
While it may seem cool to have one giant auction, the reality is the biggest collectors will be able to decide what to bid on and what to pass on. Instead of fighting over the best piece, it is easier to jump to something else in a big collection. Good for buyers, bad for the seller, who wants to get the best prices he can. Hence several auctions, months apart. This is a great collection, there will be plenty of great Mego's for anyone who wants to bid, and you can look forward to more down the road. There will be a good mix in each auction, Kresge cards, standard cards and boxes.

Wow Ben, I haven't kept up with a lot of the goings on here at the Museum and somehow missed that you were selling off.

If you are anything like me, then the hunt for them is more than half the fun.
If I were to sell pf mine (albeit a .01%) the size of yours, I too would have to keep the few well played with ones that I actually received as a kid.

oh, so does this mean their won't be a WGSH 2nd edition? :(

Sad news to hear. You should have slipped a MegoMuseum card into each of the boxed figures. It would be cool to hear from some of the lucky buyers who end up with your collection.
