I can't help but be a little sad, but I hope you stick around the community. Our little corner of the net is so great because of people like you. No more Imp would be the real loss.
And don't be shy about letting us know when your stuff is listed. There's a certain Two Guys stickered card I seem to remember you having. I actually already have the carded figure, buyt I can't resist that stickerLast edited by Wee67; Mar 4, '11, 8:59 AM.WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.Comment

I appreciate all the awesome comments and good wishes. I will definitely be around before, during, and after the auctions. Mego Super-Heroes will always be in my heart… even if they are no longer in my guest room.

That reminds me to share one more bit of exciting news for everyone: The starting bids will be low, so everybody has a fair shot at some fantastic stuff. w00t!
Not sure when the auctions will take place, so I'll keep everyone posted as I learn more.

I'm totally naive on this.. how does it affect your taxes when you conduct a large-scale sale like this via an auction house? When you conduct auctions on ebay, of course you're supposed to report that income, but I imagine most personal sellers likely don't. But I would assume that the auction house is required to report the sales?Comment

The boxes arrived here at Hakes today, I've unpacked them all and they look great! As soon as we start taking pictures, I'll be posting them on Hake's Facebook page and I'll post some here on the Museum as well. We have to decide which one's to sell in which auction. The next auction will be end of May, beginning of June. Stay tuned for more info!sigpic "It's like you're unravelling a big cable-knit sweater that someone keeps knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting and knitting..."Comment

just my 2c ...I had been toying with the idea of keeping or selling my collection, but with news like this, if I can pick up some kewl pieces (like that display box) then I will keep my collection in tact!Comment

I had heard through the grapevine that Leonardo DiCaprio is a HUGE mego fan and dropped something like $22,000 on a collection recently for a boxed set of WGSH. Can anyone confirm this? I'm sure someone like him would go crazy for a set like this and it wouldn't even make a dent in his bank account(s).Comment

I wonder why Leo would sell off his collection......not like he's hurting for money or anything. I wouldn't think of such a thing unless I was destitute........I just love my collection and it brings me a great deal of happiness......that's one of the reasons I wanted to produce a repro Aquaman VS The Great White Shark Set......I am very passionate about the AWESOMENESS of Mego in their heyday....wish they had survived.....and wish I had had the foresight to have stashed away some of my Mego's when I was a kid....especially my boxed Aquaman and Great White Shark set.....oh well!Comment
