My dad grew up during the Great Depression - without a father - so he
considers anything besides food, clothing and shelter to be a waste of
money. He drilled into my head that the value of a dollar was how
much sweat you had to expend to make that dollar.
So he was horrified to see my spent my hard earned gaoline pumping
money on old comic books and toys when I was a teenager. To me,
what made the labor worthwhile was being able to enjoy these things
with the money earned.
If we want to see MEGOs continue to be popular, we have to bring
new people into the hobby. Like comic fans, they will get demand
for vintage strong beyond our childhood nostalgia like Action Comics #1.
