Favorite 8" Batman; molded cowl or RC?

I Like the RC Batman more. It's really Cool looking and you get to see Bruce Wayne.

I was uptight enough as a kid that it would have bothered me that the cowl never quite fit perfectly on RC Bats. As I only ever owned molded, my nostalgia lies with him.

Wow, 4 pages in just less than a day. Glad I got that kind of response. I also grew up with molded and did not know about the RC. I like the RC better also so you can see Bruce Wayne's face and its not so round.

Removable mask Batman is the best action figure ever made. I agonized for years wanting one. Of all the toys I ever saw as a kid, it made the most impact. I made several custom figures because I never found one. I finally got one when I was 25.

I have more of a connection to the molded version as that's what I had as a kid but the removable mask version haunted me most of my life and would've been my number 1 toy had I gotten it as a kid.

The customs I made used a Superman head as Bruce and I carefully carved up several molded mask Batman heads to make masks for him. He had his mask on just as much as he did off as he was unmasked by dastardly villains and while he was in the Batcave checking things on the Batcomputer and so on.

To be able to "suit him up" to go after the bad guys was the be all end all.
No toy I ever had or, in this case, never REALLY had, made the impact on me as Mego removable mask Batman.

My first Mego (a birthday present from my aunt) was a RC Bats. I liked him, but I had a few molded-cowl ones later & preferred them.

I sometimes switched suits on figures, though, and I remember trying to customize Robin into the Lone Ranger with construction paper!

RC Bats. My first Mego ever.

I busted him while playing in the back yard. Nasty flying mishap.

I still have my Molded Cowl replacement. Though I've had it for 30+ years...it's still a replacement.

Molded because it's what I had as a kid and prefer T2 bodies. As a collector though I couldn't pass up adding an RC bats to my collection.

RC for me. He RM Robin and Big S Supes were all purchased at the same time and handed to me at the same time. He is my childhood memory. I never had a molded Batman until a few years ago. I also did the no cowl on in the Batcave thing with my figure during playtime, too.

The molded one is my fave because he looks a little like Adam West. I didn't know about the removable cowl until I signed up here back in the day. Its cool too but it doesn't spark anything for me.
