You know, I have no memory of seeing a RC Batman or RM Robin in the stores when I was young. I only had a molded head Batman as a kid. Then, years later when I got back into collecting Megos, I ordered a boxed Batman from a catalog I got out of Toy Shop for $45 with no pic. Imagine my surprise when it arrived to discover it was an RC Batman. I love them both.sigpic WANTED: Boxed, Carded and Kresge Carded WGSHComment

R/C...It was my first Mego. I playedwith that sucker until the mask wore out, and was very disappointed to see you could only get him with a molded cowl, and a chubby, cherubic like face when it came time to replace him.
I was also quite unhappy when I got captain America, as I really thought he too would have a removeable mask."Crayons taste like purple!"Comment

You know, I loved the molded mask look of the 12inch Batman. It's a shame they didn't shrink that head down for the 8inch one.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Man how I wanted a RC . . . .it was on all the adverts. . . I must have asked 3 or 4 different Santa Clauses around town for the one with the mask that comes off . . . But x'mas morning it was molded bats. Both disappointed and in love, all at the same time.
To be fair to my Mum . . . I never once ever saw a RC growing up. . . So whilst on the adverts . . . .I don't know if any were ever for sale in Brisbane, Australia.
It took me 30 years to finally fulfill the dream of a "Batman with the mask that came off"Comment

Interesting. This could be anchored more in which era you grew up in. My favorite would be the RC Batman. I can clearly remember being in a Kmart back in the early 70's and seeing the RC Batman and RM Robin in their boxes. These were displayed near the checkout lanes, which I still consider to be a brilliant move. Talk about an impulse purchase for your parents! But then again, maybe being that close to the checkout lane, explains why they were in such disarray (mask wise) and hanging out of the THEN-solid boxes. Great memory though.Comment

I like molded. It's the one I saw on the commercials and in the toy stores. It's the one I own now. I didn't know about RC Bats until I was an adult. I never liked the RC version. He looks like he's wearing a hoodie!

Which Batman ?
RC, without a doubt ! I never owned one as a youngster, but I dreamed about having one nonetheless ! By the time I could talk my parents into buying a Mego for me (mid-1973), RC Batman and RM Robin had been replaced by the molded cowl/painted mask versions. A year later, I actually found a Bruce Wayne head on my way home from 4th grade, but didn't know for sure what it was until years later.Comment
