The legs look AWFUL on every one. They look all crazy legged and bow legged. It's like each one is having a contest with another one who can do the wildest "Elvis dance" in package.

I put my Supes on a cast away body after much disappointment. What pushed me was the fact the emblem has begun to get cracks and I didn't even touch it but to take it out of it's card. How cheap is that? Out of the pack for two weeks and the emblem cracks. It is much cooler on the cast away body. No more slumping over with Montezuma's revenge lol.

Man, I wish I had gone down to that one, Austin! I went to the TRU in Merrillville, IN. today, and only could find Sinestro and Luthor. I picked up Sinestro (only had enough $$ for one). I have to say it was REALLY cool walking into a TRU and seeing these on the pegs

I felt like going to CHild WOrld back in 1980 because I knew I could find a Star Wars ESB FX-7 there cause my buddy just got home with one.

I've been away from the boards for a couple of weeks until yesterday (when I got caught up on all of the posts at the Marketplace), so today was the first day I saw this thread. I just finished reading 19+ pages of comments about the new Retro Action Heroes and have a few comments myself:

First, a big THANK YOU to everyone who posted photos of the figures hanging up in the stores! That's quite a sight!

Second, I'm glad to hear the comments that people are leaving about the quality (good or bad) and their opinions of the price. This has already been stated, but I agree that some of the discussion may have become a bit heated simply because it's tough to tell how someone means something when it's written vs. a conversation in person. However, I suspect that the guys involved in making these toys would want to know what their potential customers think. If a lot of people don't like the bodies, that's important information for the toy makers to have. It doesn't seem like anyone on here is really trying to be a jerk (well, ok, one guy was), for the most part, people are just sharing their opinions about this new Mego-like toy.

Just for the record, I think it's awesome that these figures are being sold in a big chain store like Toys R Us. I have not seen them in person, so I can't comment on the quality, but they look pretty cool in the photos. I haven't decided yet whether or not I will pick them up. I do want them and I do want to support the line, but the price is pretty high for me. That's not a comment about their value for the dollar, just a reflection of my personal financial situation. It would be pretty tough for me to drop $100 on a set of all 5 of these figures. Still, after years of complaining that Mego didn't make an 8" Lex Luthor, I really feel like owe it to the gods of toy karma to buy one at retail.

Now, this IS a comment about the value for the dollar. It's just my opinion and I don't mean to start any trouble, but I would like to respectfully point out that the Adventure Team 12" GI Joe figures were selling at Wal*Mart for around $10 just a few years ago. They used more plastic to manufacture than the Retro Action figures, they had the fuzzy hair, more articulation, plus they also had removable clothes and were a similar nostalgia-driven product. I know that I'm not aware of all the details involved in the manufacturing of these figures, but even with the increase in oil costs in the last couple of years, I don't see how the Retro Action figures would cost enough to manufacture to justify a retail price that is double what the 12" GI Joe figures cost. I am not trying to complain, but as I mentioned above, I would think that information about our opinions would be something that the guys who are making these toys would want to know...especially since the price is the only factor that's keeping me from picking up the whole set right away.

So, like... I went to TRU in the Valley, right? Totally.

Anyway, Burbank was wiped OUT. Every one sold out immediately, according to the store. They checked and said Glendale had "a couple," so I went there.

Literally, they had "a couple" of Lex Luthor only:



Glendale is a big store (Burbank TRU is tiny and ghetto, BTW), and they have three pegs set aside for them. Pretty impressive.

So I have managed only the Lex Luthor (unstitched, BTW. LOL!), but may make another run to the 'dale today. They get a delivery today and Friday, while the 'bank only gets one per week, on Thursday.

Good question. I think it may have alot to do with the production volume. Those Joes were plentiful in just about every Walmart in America. Alot more Walmarts than TRU's and the toy stores haven't been ordering them in huge volumes from the reports coming in. Now if Walmart ever picked this up, yeah I could see a huge reduction in price. The volume discount would be incredible. We can dream...

Meule- Yep, I got home from Brussels around 5 p.m. on Sunday, and I was at TRU by noon on Monday, hahaha! I told you I was gonna go find 'em a.s.a.p, I wasn't kidding!
