Thanks it's good to be here. I got so much catching up to do but am looking forward to it.

but come on guys... these things look rank hanging on hooks like that!

very messy looking and not uniform at all
My Supes had the peg hook right above the blister, so he hung properly. Not so for the other two.

Found two full sets at my Toys R Us yesterday. Took one and left the other. Interesting to see that one set had the J-hooks in the center of the card, thus leaving the figure hanging at a downward angle but the second set had the hook placed directly over the figures head leaving the doll hanging straight which was much more attractive to the eye. Some of the figures inside their packaging were contorted as if really sucking in the gut and the plastic bubble had a slight film to it but otherwise it was a blast to see them. Moms and their kids would walk by and not give them a second look though I think the adults eyeballed me - weird. One of the Sinestro's had a bent card but otherwise no major issues. I hope to see more in stock as well as Mattels DC vs. MOTUC - after what seams like an eternity the DCU has finally stepped up its presence in stores as it should be. Marvels had it too good for too long. Now bring on the Retro Vinyl DC Playsets and it's heaven on earth!!!

Could you not take it back to the store and they can give you a new one when they get more?

My plan was to hold on to the other three for a bit. Joseph was so happy, that is until he opened the package. The figure is super wobbly, won't even stand up. It looks deformed. It is a crying shame that Matell could not have done a better job on these. How do you explain to a 5 year old why his awesome new figure is crap? Now it sits on the table and I have a very disappointed young Mego fan on my hands. To see his face go from utter joy to complete sadness is hard to see. You would think that for $20.00 a figure they would be in better shape out of the box. Time to break out some Doc Mego parts and start building a new custom for the little guy.

Every pic I've seen so far of these hanging on pegs only had one or two of certain characters. Is that all they have in stock? I would've thought there would be dozens and dozens hanging on the pegs.
Oh, and they do look funny hanging crooked like that. Might as well put them in boxes then in a store display box

Hm. I just checked and they're in stock at toysrus.com, too. No Green Lantern, though.

I visited my local Toys R Us tonight and I found x2 Spermen, and 1 Lex hanging on the pegs. So they have reached Colorado. I had the manager check the back of the store, but he said that everything was on the floor. I also had him check in Westmister but they were completely sold out. He said they would get another truck on Tuesday, so hopefuly I can find a Green Lantern then. I bought all they had and gave the extra superman to my son. He has him ripped off of his card and battling Green arrow I type.

I took a couple of snap shots on my phone to post...nuthin fancy...I really want to see the whole aisle filled with these guys...come on Mattel lets get them in!!!

Heres another shot that shows the vast emptiness.......its sad.

    Hello all.

I'm the Steve from the original post who first spotted the retro figures in TRU - this is my first post. It was really by chance that I stopped by my local TRU and spotted them near an end cap peg rack just waiting to be snatched up. I didn't see them at first in spite of circling the aisles many times looking for other things. Needless to say I went back and snatched up Lex and Sinestro a few days later.

I've never owned the original megos but have kept them in the back of my mind over the years. Now that these figures have hit the shelves I think I may just have to set aside room on my own shelf for more of them (money permitting). Here's a few shots of my retro-bounty.

(yes I touched up that shot of lex and sinestro for a more vintage look)
