I have not purchased these figures yet. I did get Ga and i was not to happy with the look of his body or his bow, the outfit is good, dont like that it gets snagged easy, you would think at 20+ a pop Mattel would spring for better material. Why does his belt have so many ball niches? that bugs me as well. Its a shame that other companies and not major ones have made better bodies. Now, considering how easy some of the new Trek figures, break open IE chest becoming unglued, rubbers band to tight and snapping arm hooks, face colors being to red. Phasers do not hoster and have to be kept in place with rubber band, that was a true shame and disapointment that issue should be corrected there have been enough waves to have corrected this.
OUT OF SPACE TO BE CONTINUED........

I for one, do not approve, nor want something that I purchase brand new, to fall apart in my hands. I don't care how easy it is to restring or reglue. more care should go into the production of the line. If i wanted a toy that fell apart, I would go to a dollar store and get a cheap dollar knock off. I say if the toy is not perfected do not release it till it is.
I am not suprised that the new figure have issues. It saddens me that this is the case. We now have Mego Wanna be's, not true Megos, as another members once posted here. Perhaps we can not go back :o(
What do you all say? let you opinion be heard..

You bought a coue of sets of these right? Do you have any proble

iment Mattel on the line but it is just as cool to let them know there is a problem. If you do not have any problems that is great news. I just want to get the word back to Mattel so we can back up Doc Mego when he tells them the complaints.

Well, here's the perspective of a newbie. I have to say that I was really happy with my Green Arrow and Star Trek figures, until I started reading these boards. I heard about Star Trek figures with too tightly-wound bodies, so I looked mine over and sure enough, Scotty's arm was being sucked inside the cavity and the shoulder was split! (So that's why I was having trouble posing the arm...)

My Green Arrow seems OK--loose elbow, but he can stand alright on his own. My enthusiasm has been dampened about getting the others though. Now I'm afraid they'll have skewed emblems and floppy legs and incomplete lanterns. But I'm glad I got all this information. Ignorance was bliss, but I'd rather be well-informed.

Here is the solution I was promised; Mattel will refund me for all five figures. I told Jessica I really want them fixed and fix them before they hit mass market. She is forwarding this to the product people to look at. They do not have figures to replace them or there was a strong chance I would have been offered replacement figures. I told her I bought them online at superherocity. If we all do this, Mattel will be flooded with complaints before these hit Toysrus. I expressed my desire that these issues be fixed before parents start paying $20.00 + a figure and have problems. This will avoid the embarrasment on Mattel's behalf. I also said I know they have fixed issues with the MOTU line. I already have the reurn shipper coming to my email if I choose to send them back. We have to call, call as a group and we will get these issues fixed!

              J,

Here I go with my issues; My GL had his nose smashed, he is doing the (I gota puke pose) and he is on a Superman card. Lex has his last snap broke right out of the packaging, als doing IGPP. Superman has th IGPP and has runs on his right leg. The main thing is the bodies. The floppy waist is what really needs to be fixed. Mattel Assigned me five different case #'s. One for each figure. They will refund $24.00 a figure and I have 30 days to send in. I have to cover shipping to them and have some sort of proof(receipt or conformation). Jessica checked if they could give me new figures, but they have none to swap. I hope the 2nd wave will be fixed. Doc said the 2nd wave will be on new bodies. I checked toysrus today. They have the Iron man 2 toys out and are resetting the sections. I think these should be out soon.

Is there an email address available for Mattel? In stead of just calling Mattel and complaining it would have more impact if they could actually see what the problem(s) is (are).

I offered to take a video of mr trying to stand these up. They said it was not neccesary. Go to their website and see if they list an email for these types of things. I also went on matty's forum and listed my complaint under the complaint thread.

Pretty sad to see them rush these into production without any field testing.
I might expect that from a cheapo dollar-store toy maker but not from such a huge company like Mattel. Either that or they chose a factory with really crappy quality control...or maybe BOTH?

Absolutely! The body issue needs to be fixed and addressed pronto to avoid hundreds of more complaints. I hope everyone continue to bring the issue up to Mattel in order to ensure that this products meets higher standards. It should be expected that most children would remove the figure from the card in order to play with it!

I hope Mattel gets this fixed. You can count me as a marginal fan (of DC figures), who would have bought these were it not for all the bad reviews.

Sounds like these problems are out of his hands. It is unfair to think that he will be able to fix the issue. I'm not sure he was too happy about the construction of these new bodies...but it is quite hard to argue with Mattel. The consumer needs to stand up and make his voice heard...as Doc already stated....these Mattel executives are under the impression that these toys are "perfect" ...which is funny since most people don't own them yet. I'm not sure where they get this idea. Here consumers can see that if they want a Retro Mego...they must take matters into their own hands and stop trying to be a sunshine pal for the love of a mego.

There has been a lot of talk about the problems with these figures here, but out of the over 300 Green Arrows bought by members how many people got Green Arrows that had these issues? It's always disapointing to get a defective product, but to keep things in perspective it seems like a fairly small amount of the figures have outright defects, and that can happen with any line.

Good question. But of the 300 bought by Members here...how many switched the Body out, for a Cast-A-Way one?
