Where Did You Get Your Megos?

A response elsewhere got me to thinking, other than on my birthday and Christmas, when I could get a few dollars out of my mom, my Megos almost all came from the G.C. Murphy store a couple blocks down the road. Does anyone else remember that 5 and Dime store, which competed with Woolworth's? I still remember the exact part of the store and the exact shelf it would be on if it was still there and still sold Megos.

Where did you get your Megos?

I think I got mine mostly from Zayres. I remember an Uhura with a broken arm and a Hulk with a broken leg sitting on the pegs for years. I remember Kmart for the comic action figures and that they were $.99 and a last resort toy if my mom wouldnt buy anything else. Same thing with Chips 8" figures, they were a cheap throwaway figure when i couldnt get anything else.
Zombie? Vampire? Evil clown?!? Yes, please.

Most of ours came from K-Mart, TG&Y, Children's Palace and Toy City.

KMart, Shopko (small national chain..). Sometimes the Mall stores would have a couple, like a Hobby Horse, or perhaps Boston Store toy section.

All of my childhood Megos were either birthday or Christmas gifts. I do remember oogling the colorful, box-filled shelves of the local Kiddie City, but I don't think I ever got to buy one.

As a kid, I got my first Mego, a black AJ from a little family owned toy store I can't remember the name of, 2 blocks from my house. The second and third Megos (another black AJ and Lainie doll) from Santa Claus.

As an adult, my Megos have come from members here, toy shows, Ebay and Doc Mego.
