My first and last (yes I know - it's a sad tale, I only had one) was Dr Zaius. He had nobody to play with.

I don't know what the other guys in the UK will say on this, but I really don't remember much Mego in the UK. I am 37 now so maybe my age dictates the toys I had. A friend in his early 40s remembers them and had a few WGSH and Apes.
"I should say I`m very much cleverer than any of the people who put me here. As a matter of fact, I could leave any time I wanted. It`s only a doll`s house after all. Anyway, I don`t mind. I like dolls" - The Mad Hatter, Arkham Asylum.

Though I never really stopped collecting, I know exactly which were the last WGSH I bought at retail. I was 12 so it would've been 1981 or 1982. Green Arrow, Catwoman and Aquaman. Still have them in their boxes.

It's hard to say, I never really stopped collecting, and it's hard to say where the playing stopped and the collecting began.

I suppose my last "childhood" one would be a Pin Pin carded Thing ("La Chose") that I got when I was around 12, unless you count a few figures I got in a trade with my cousin (Spidey, Aquaman, 12" Spidey and Cap) when I was around 16. I wasn't really an "adult" yet, but these figures were more for collecting than playing with, so I'm not sure if I should count them as "childhood Megos"?

Can you count being a teenager in Jr high school? In the early 80s maybe 82 or 83 but could be 81 or 84? I can't remember the year now, only that I was about 13 maybe 14 and I went to childworld for something.

Anyway on clearance thrown in a pile were some Iron Man's, Mr. Mxy's and Catwomans boxed(yes BOXED not Carded) for 1.49 and I bought a catwoman as I just couldn't resist buying one of my favorites toys for that price. I don't remember what ever happened to Selina as I remember hiding her from everyone but I don't remember if I ever found her again or if someone else did and played with her and I forgot all about her until years later and I often wonder where the hell she is.

Can't recall the year but to guess I would say maybe 77 or 78.
I was in a KMart-like store called Big N (formerly Neisners)and they still had POTA figures. I already had them all but I got a second soldier ape, cuffed style (not mittens), carded, type 1.
As far as I remember that was the last mego I got new.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the last Mego I ever got back in the day was the Star Trek Keeper.

My last 8" Megos were Mr. Fantastic, Thing, and Human Torch. I received them all for Christmas. I forget the year, '76 or '77. But I did have Micronauts and Black Hole figures after that.

My very last Mego, in the day..., was Green Arrow. Yes, he was a super figure, but I was 13 and too excited by Space:1999 and soon Star Wars by that time.. I only had less than a dozen, probably 7-8 in total during that time anyways. My pal had all the toys, like all the Trek Megos, so I was over by his place a lot anyways.

My last Mego was someone from Buck Rogers. When I was a kid I swapped one of my Star Wars figures for someone from the line. Can't remember who got what for who.

The last actual Megos were new Batman and Robin figures. I went through those a couple times and my last Megos were probably my third set of those. Although the last "guys" as I called them back in the day (guys meant 8" action figures type stuff) were the LJN SWAT guys. I didn't really know they were a different toy company at first (not until that first body repair/headswap) so they were lumped in with my Mego stuff. They were the last of an era. I remember my older brother making fun of me for getting those at Christmas saying "aren't you getting a little old for dolls?".

I have the "mike" figure from the SWAT line but his original clothes and accessories are long gone. I always thought they were neat because you could pop off their hands and feet to pretend they got chopped off or something.
I tried to turn him into a Brent figure from Beneath the POTA. gave him a 5 o'clock shadow and changed his clothes. Eventually he ended up in my friend's old McCoy trek shirt & pants with some soldier ape boots and I distressed the shirt and added some "blood" for some effects. LOL
How do you add pictures to your posts in here as I've seen some guys do? I would post pics of some of this stuff as I talk about it.

                              Myx.

I just fresh from seeing Superman 2, I ran across to Dominion Playworld and hoped to buy my first 8" Mego in many moons (Star Wars had kind of been dominant) and pretty much had no choice seeing as the store only had him. It was 1981 and Mego stuff had really dried up.
