My last one was, I think, the 12-inch movie Superman. I had magnetic 12-inch Batman, as well, but I can't remember which was first.

I usually have a really good memory for such things but I'm having a hard time remembering exactly which was the last one.....much like Brian, I also recall picking up a Mxy (boxed) at a Kay-Bee store around 81, and he was the only 8" Mego there. But also right around the same time, my mom gave me a Kid Flash figure that I'm now guessing she picked up at a discount, probably from the Child World nearby.
I also picked up some of the Eagle Force figures when they were new, which I guess was about 1982, so those are technically the last Mego product I bought new at retail as a kid.Comment

My last Mego was probably one of the Micronauts, but my last 8" Mego (I definitely remember) was a Capt. Kirk. I got him in a care package to my family sent by an aunt. This was around 1978. I had a Kirk already so I drew a beard on him and used him as the ship's new helmsman, since Sulu wasn't around. It's all good!Comment

It was a figure from Eagle Force. Not a 100% sure which one. I remember my Mom bought it for me at our Local Grocery store. That was the first time I had ever saw them and I remember thinking Die cast metal is so cool. I also thought that everything should be made out of die Cast Metal.

My last childhood Mego was Iron Man.
In 1977 I mysteriously started receiving the Heroes World catalog from New Jersey. I don't know how I ended up on a mailing list as I was 6 years old, but you can imagine how it ignited my lust for Megos!.. I lived 70 miles away from the nearest Toys R Us so I had NO IDEA that there were so many cool characters! I had Batman, Joker, Robin, Spiderman, and Superman. We had a really great, small toy store in Oroville that probably closed in '76, so really the only figures I'd seen were ones released until then, maybe? I still remember a Tarzan figure there, maybe Catwoman.
.. In 1978 I ordered Iron Man for something like $2.98. I checked the mail every day for two weeks and when I got it, the box was slightly smushed but Iron Man was awesome! It felt so "modern" that his boots and gloves were molded more accurately than the megos of yore (No oven Mitts?!). It was my first "grownup" mego!
It was around this time, of course, that Star Wars figures began appearing. I quickly made the move to Micronauts and Star Wars, forsaking my super hero guys, occasionally going through nostalgic (at age 8 and 9!) Mego phases.
Shortly into my teens, Maybe even age 11 or 12, I found a Spiderman and Batman at the Toys R Us in Sacramento (Still 70 miles away) on clearance and bought them. I made the choice to keep them on the cards (no boxes), but that only lasted half of the car ride back home.
For years I had MINT MINT MINT, sort of "grown up kid"-purchased Megos.. After all, by then I was collecting Beatles Records and was quite keen on the condition of my collectibles. Sadly, they were stolen in 1995 and never returned. Boooo! The first day I joined the mego mailing list, I wrote to Scott Adams to see if he'd seen them floating around the bay areaI obviously had no idea that mint, complete Mego Batman and Spiderman figures were common. Before the internet, I felt pretty isolated in owning megos at all!
But I digress: The last one I considered a "childhood" buy was Iron Man. He was awesome and I loved him. My Cocker Spaniel chewed on the boots and gloves, and possibly even ate his chest-ray-projector, but I kept him for years.
Finally, back in 1998 or so, I traded him on the megolist, I can't remember with whom, for a Captain America suit. I figured if I had an Iron man, everyone did, and I could find another one soon. And I did, it just wasn't cheap. Dang!
I want so so badly for EMCE to get the superhero licenses! I'd so love to open a fresh Mego Ironman again.Comment
