Myx.
I just fresh from seeing Superman 2, I ran across to Dominion Playworld and hoped to buy my first 8" Mego in many moons (Star Wars had kind of been dominant) and pretty much had no choice seeing as the store only had him. It was 1981 and Mego stuff had really dried up.Comment

Same as AM. I got the Torch, Mr. F and the Thing for Christmas and those were my last ones I remember getting before feeling too old for action figures.Comment

I have the "mike" figure from the SWAT line but his original clothes and accessories are long gone. I always thought they were neat because you could pop off their hands and feet to pretend they got chopped off or something.
I tried to turn him into a Brent figure from Beneath the POTA. gave him a 5 o'clock shadow and changed his clothes. Eventually he ended up in my friend's old McCoy trek shirt & pants with some soldier ape boots and I distressed the shirt and added some "blood" for some effects. LOL
How do you add pictures to your posts in here as I've seen some guys do? I would post pics of some of this stuff as I talk about it.
Rich
this is what it says at the bottom of my forum screens. does that mean I cant add pics to my posts?:

Lainie The Beautiful Dancing Doll. As most of you know, I had 3 Megos as a child; 2 AJs and Lainie. 1st AJ I got at 5. I thought I lost him so I got a replacement AJ at 6, (and then found the first one). When I was 7, I got Lainie for Christmas. She danced until her motor died, but I still loved her."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

Anyone can post pics. When you select post reply, there is a picture icon (yellow with what looks like mountains in it) in your tool bar. If you have the picture uploaded online (see the tips and tricks section for starting your own file on the Museum) you can right click on the pic, copy the url and past it in the box when you click that picture icon.
And when i do as instructed above, will my picture appear in the message or will it just be a hotlink?Comment

The Hulk
Its funny because at almost at 30 I'm still collecting mego figs.I just can't get my childhood out of me.The very last one back in the days was the Hulk at the local toys r us. I remember he was the only mego on the self, and was a dime a dozen.Well when I couldn't get what I wanted I settled for another hulk.My mom would get mad because I had like 6 of them, and they where at clearence for $1.00 or .50 cents.Comment

My last Megos were, appropriately for me, the last heroes produced- The Teen Titans. I got them all in one fell swoop for Christmas. I can remember being really annoyed how their sleeves and pants came coming away from their gloves and boots.WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.Comment

I found Torch Thor Mr Fantastic in a flea market when I was a kid. This guy had tons of them for sale. I wish I had begged for more of them
Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?Comment

The last Mego i bought was a carded Batman in 1981 or so, which would have put me at 9 yrs. I was shopping for a birthday present for a neighbor kid a few years my junior. I remember being surprised to see a Mego, as I hadn't seen one in a store for a while. I also recall that it was more expensive than I expected at over $5. I used my own money to buy it but I figured the kid would love it.
When the kid opened it, I was disappointed to see that he didn't care one bit for it. I should have kept it for myself and bought him a Hotwheel or something cheap.Comment

I think it was an 8 inch Batman and Robin in the late 80s from Children's Palace. If not, it was a 3 3/4 inch Ponch and/or Jon from the same Children's Palace.
- IanRampart, this is Squad 51. How do you read?Comment
