So, anyone going to the movies tonight?

I am having a hard time with this movie. It does not take place in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. I have read ALL the books/comic books of Star Wars and after the big reveal of this movie it saddened me. It became clear that the Disney Star Wars takes place in a separate universe than the Star Wars Expanded Universe so I will just wait to see it when it comes out of DVD/Blu-ray.

They were pretty upfront that the Expanded Universe had been shifted over to "Legend". I know that's hard for fans of the novels, etc., but I can see why they did it. It painted any future films into a definite corner.

how long do you think it will be before we get comic book or novel versions of what Lucas had planned for this trilogy? he was quoted as saying that Disney rejected his entire draft

Did anyone honestly think this WOULDN'T shatter all Box Office records? If it doesn't, their is something unbalanced in the Force.

While I don't think anything will ever get the repeat theater viewing response that the original Star Wars had, I think this one is going to get many ticket buyers to plop down their money more than once. If you take into account the home video market, it may very well go toe to toe for times viewed per person by fans.

I went with my best friend at 10:00 am this morning (sat in the rumble seats which was a novelty), and I'm going back with my wife at 10:45 pm tonight.

Also got a screen booked for the 30th.
