For those who are going or who have already been, just a question that you should be able to answer without presenting any spoilers. Did the very opening seconds of the movie "feel" any different since there is (presumably) no 20th Century Fox fanfare music, something I associate with STAR WARS since it's been the first thing that ever came up on screen before every movie...sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment

Saw it twice today, once in IMAX 3D and once in standard 3D. Will see it again tomorrow in 2D.

Waiting for a dedicated spoiler-sanctioned thread to start before I post anything.

Yeah... it did seem strange seeing a SW movie with no Fox fanfare preceding it.For those who are going or who have already been, just a question that you should be able to answer without presenting any spoilers. But I'd mentally prepared myself beforehand for its absence.
It's just the Lucasfilm logo and then straight into the "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." text.

I do want to see it but I am going to wait for the blu ray.You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

I'm glad you did mention that they only showed the Lucasfilm logo. I had visions in my head of Disney working up some corny scenario where you saw X-Wings and TIE fighters zooming around the Disney castle. That God they didn't go THAT far...Saw it twice today, once in IMAX 3D and once in standard 3D. Will see it again tomorrow in 2D.

I am having a hard time with this movie. It does not take place in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. I have read ALL the books/comic books of Star Wars and after the big reveal of this movie it saddened me. It became clear that the Disney Star Wars takes place in a separate universe than the Star Wars Expanded Universe so I will just wait to see it when it comes out of DVD/Blu-ray.Visit my wiki site:

I just got back from seeing it. I'll probably go see it again this weekend.

I was prepared for the Fox fanfare to be missing at the beginning, and was prepared for some of what I saw but not for some other parts....

This movie is the real deal folks!Comment
