So, anyone going to the movies tonight?

Let's keep this spoiler free if you think you know anything, but I'm just curious, who's going to see a certain film either tonight, tomorrow, or this weekend?

I hedged my bets, hoping our local theater would get it. The owner, (who is also my daughter's 2nd grade teacher) told me at the time they were hoping they'd get it, but it was up to Disney.

So I let it sell out in nearby Lexington, hoping to keep it local and avoid the crowds.

For once, it paid off, and me, Cindy, the kids, and some of Andrew's buddies are seeing it at 7 tonight.

Anyone else? I expect at least a few of you will see it this weekend.

I was planning on waiting until after Christmas, but I don't know if we can hold out that long, LOL
my son was asking if we could go on Sunday but I imagine theaters are sold out through the weekend, will have to call and see for maybe a Sunday matinee or something

I'm thinking about it. This is one of those movies I feel like I have to get out of my system. Sooner might be better than later.

I'm going to tomorrow. Already have my ticket.. I know there's been a lot of hype about theatres selling out but I reccomend double checking. I had no trouble getting a reserved seat ticket last week for the first showing on Friday. Most places will have in 2D and 3D plus as many showings as they can squeeze in.

Going tonight! Bought tickets months ago for the 7pm 3D show for my entire family, but had to move it to 8:30 because my middle school son's Christmas program got scheduled tonight as well. He said "I'm not going to the Christmas program" when he found out, haha. He's a big Star Wars fan

^My son would have done the same thing. Luckily, this is the one night there isn't some other Christmas activity going on!

A buddy of mine contacted me yesterday and said that he would try to get tickets for sometime this weekend. Otherwise, I'll have to wait until Tuesday. One of my neighbors bought his and he's going on Sunday.

Be careful when talking to people who have seen it.
The movie's been playing here since yesterday, and even though I keep saying "NO SPOILERS!", they walk up to you, and two seconds later I heard my first spoilers. Aaaaargh!!!!!
I think I'm going to hide in a convent for a couple of days, I'm going Tuesday...

Btw, everyone seems positive about it, which is good. No Phantom Menace effect...

Abrams understood that what Lucas hated - 35mm film, practical on-set effects, pretty much the whole 70's reverb - is as important to SW as the characters. Makes a huge difference.

Nothing can help Phantom Menace, but Attack and Revenge were salvageable.

Spielberg, Darabont and a small group read Phantom and Lucas asked them for notes. They all passed and said he should make the film he wants. I swear it was deliberate sabotage. Spielberg and Darabont had to have known the script was crap.

That same fact didn't prevent Spielberg from making Indy Crystal Skull, right?

But back on topic, I'm planning on a Friday matinee showing. My small town has plenty of showings all day, and I don't expect a problem with walk-up. I'm supposed to be seeing it with the wife and extended family after Xmas, but I want it done ASAP for spoiler's sake.

I'm doing some Star Wars science related demonstrations at a theater tonight and then seeing it Sunday morning with the whole family.

I don't actually think I know anything,'cos I know everything, lol! Still not gonna spoil it for you guys though, even though I did for myself......and not even seen the movie yet. To be honest,I'm in no rush to see this, but will probably see it while in L.A. on xmas vacation.

Not everyone is positive about it though, but I can't really tell you why without spoiling it,so I'll wait a week or so,lol. Most people say it's good though, adding a but.....and go on about what they weren't happy with. Just hope SW fandom doesn't go the way of Trek fandom. GEE! lol! I like both so I don't care. Trek teaser trailer looked like fun.

                              J-R!
