Day of the Doctor - talk (spoilers)

    Loved it !!!

Brings up many questions for the future though

The end pushed it over the top, but I wish 5, 6, 7 and 8 showed up too

Seeing Tom put such a tear in my eye

Agreed, loved it and loved seeing Tom.

I like that there is now the potential for the Time Lords to return.

I did like the idea of the Doctor choosing to retire at some future date in the form of Tom Baker... That was indeed a nice touch.

But I'm still left with some questions that I hope will be answered at some point (or maybe they were and somehow I missed it...)

What happened when the Doctor and Clara were in his time-stream and they met the War Doctor? How did they get from that point to the point where this special started?

When she went through the time stream in the last episode she met the War Doctor but that was it (he already killed the Time Lords)

This movie took place BEFORE that - and this movie made it never happen

At least that's how I read it

          Ahh, but there's the rub!

The War Doctor does not remember that he didn't destroy the Time Lords. He said it himself, he would not remember. In that case, neither would any of his incarnations... he still believed he was guilty of the destruction. The only one that WOULD remember was number 11 (now known as 12)...

So the incident in the time stream still happened. Everything still happened. It had to happen to shape the Doctor. He had to be angry when he first met Rose. He had to learn to live again when he because number 10 (number 11 now?)... he had to carry the guilt and anger into Demons Run... so that he could be the man that would go back and save his people, and himself.

Still... how did they get from the Time Stream & the War Doctor to London to get Tardis-napped by UNIT?

            Spoilers.

All this week I kept thinking "i'd have the new Doctor make a cameo", clearly Steven Moffat does not need me as an advisor. Loved it, loved Tom.

Me too my freind. Not everything I wanted but I am happy for what I got which was more than I expected. I really liked how all of them save galifrey and as soon as he heard Tom my brother said "that's Tom" and it's what he had stated he'd like to do in the special - a place where the doctor can talk with his former self

New guy here...but man, those guys know how to mark an anniversary! WOW!!!

When I saw the back of the head, I knew it was Baker...just from those "Doctor Revisited" specials. Very fitting given him being the oldest living Doctor, and of course, the most popular and longest running of all time.

Seeing Capaldi's eyes was a nice treat! Will no doubt help to endear him to newer fans, like myself.

So, do you think the numbers will be officially bumped up, or will Hurt be known only as "The War Doctor"?

                          Fantastic! Brilliant!
I loved the final scenes, Tom Baker & then the 12 Doctors shot.

The only complaint I have is the 15 or so minutes of build up BBC did. Wish they had shown the McGann webisode instead of the chatter of pointless who is your favorite nonsense. 50 years to prepare for this and they found the five most boring people in all of time & space to host. Where was John Barrowman? Anybody else? Seriously, the biggest celeb guest was the 3rd string guy from Mythbusters?!? Really BBC?

                            Amazing episode!!!
                            Watched it with my son.
It was awesome on so many levels, something for fans of all ages.
Pretty sure my eyes got watery as well Mikey once Tom hit the scene.

I thought the 50th was great but have a question.

The way I understood the Time Lord/Dalek war was 'time locked' which meant they were in a continuous never ending war. The universe would be safe while the Timelords were trapped in a war for eternity. Did they tweak that or was Galifrey always destroyed?

Either way I'm glad Galifrey has a chance to come back. It sucked that the Daleks were alive and kicking while the Doctors people were still lost.
                              Better late than never.....
