^That's one thing the classic Trek films have that is lost on a lot of franchise. They each had a different story and feel to them. They didn't do the revenge thing again after Khan. I guess maybe III and V were similar in feel, but still the execution was much different.

Maybe the bad guy is Kirk himself --- aka The Enemy Within remake

That would be kinda boring as a movie though

I want and alien and NOT another Romulan !!!
      I'm sick of Romulans.

Been a long time since we had any villainous Klingons. I'd be really disappointed if they don't show up, in any capacity.

The winds of rumor say this will be a retelling of Gary Mitchell.

BUT, if it was Gary Mitchell the Enterprise doctor should be Sheriff Micah

Looks pretty good but I'm surprised they didn't get Jamie Foxx to play Dr McCoy.

No ..., It's the Guy Who Should be the Next Batman imo.

                      SSSHHHH!!!!! Someone will hear you!

I dunno; it's kinda troubling to me how readily things turn into "it's the ______ story!" speculation. (Not just with Trek, either.) It's SUPPOSED to be a movie from a franchaise based on exploring, seeing new things in the big wide universe, "where no-one has gone before" and all that; and it's all rehashes and retellings. The first was okay.... sure, Kirk and Spock's origin, even though we knew them already.... more or less. But those were new versions of old characters. The Romulan branch of the "Darth Maul Fan Club" was new, but the plot was kinda recycled. I'd much rather see whole cloth new things.

                        Best Batman trailer ever!

I liked the first one, but this does nothing for me. No ST feel, and it looks like a remake of the first one.

Question, if it is Gary Mitchell, and if I am correct,in the triler, he states, I am back for revenge, is this Classic Gary Mitchell from the OS, or is he the new time line Gary, Wht is that ship, tht crashes into the street, looks like classic Trek Starship. What do you all think? let me know.

So, according to Paramount, Benedict Cumberbatch is playing John Harrison in the new ST movie.
                            Interesting!

I'm thinking it might not have anything to do with the original series.

The first movie proved Abrams isn't going to follow the same timeline --- If so he would have had the Talosian story to knock Pike off the bridge.

                                I think it's completely new.

Their mentality is probably sounds like they wont base any movies on TV episodes
