There was action in almost every episode of TOS, I am excited by the look of this. Anything that gets away from the TNG methodology (zzzzzzzz technobabble zzzzzzzz tea zzzzzzz) is fine by me.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

If this is indeed a revamped version of Gary Mitchell's tale, is the blonde lady we see Sally Kellerman's character?
I will admit this doesn't look very "Trekkie"...but it's a teaser, so I'll reserve judgement. It does look action-packed, which as Brian says, is something Trek lost along the way. There's only so many times you can modulate the deflector shields to solve a problem. I prefer the space cowboy approach.

I had this posted over in the other STID thread, as well. I just wish I could figure out the magic of how to plug in video footage!
The teaser trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness is up (pretty much everywhere) and while it looks impressive, I, unfortunately, do NOT get any kind of a TREK vibe from it. My biggest nitpicks would still be regarding the way the ENTERPRISE is being handled. In Roddenberry's vision, the ENTERPRISE is a MASSIVE ship, waaaaay to large to support it's own weight in Earth's atmosphere, let own in the freakin' ocean!!! They're gonna have to do some mighty tall 'splainin' to get me to swallow these digressions....sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment

I read somewhere the shields actually keep it from crunching up.
No sheild though, no Enterprise in these conditionsComment

That's the one thing I really liked about THE BORG in ST: TNG. They were never about revenge, they were just about conquest/assimilation. Kinda like the Cybermen on Doctor Who aren't really revenge driven, they just wanna make everyone a Cyberman!!!sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! I know this is only a teaser for the film. I've watched it a couple times and frankly, it really doesn't excite me. Just mindless action and Michael Bay-like explosions. I was really hoping something that would set it apart from all the other big f.x. movies out there today.I am more than machine. More than man. More than a fusion of the two.Comment
