I am so glad that the next movie wont have khan in it ...that direction was all wrong.....I still hate the fact that Kirk was made a captain so fast...hopfully this movie will help make Kirk"s promotion make sense

I didn't have a problem with the tempo of the 1st movie. Kirk's promotion and character development (the whole crew as well) was done very nicely. I hope they continue what they have started and move forward. I don't want them jumping 2 years into the future with Kirk and Spock being besties. I would like to see more development there. I am not so concerned about the villain, I think it will be secondary to the character development. Nero wasn't the reason I loved Star Trek.

Perhaps they could even find a way to bring in the Q Continuum, since there are those who posit that that is the true energy that Mitchell tapped into....
I always liked the novel Q Squared tying in Trelane from TOS with the Q from Next Generation.

Considering the last 2 Star Trek movies featured Romulans I would be happy if the franchise never showed them again.

            I'm all Romulaned out

I agree: enough with the Romulans already! I'd take a (good) Klingon (as in really a bad@$$ Klingon) or I'd love to see a redo on the Gorn. Think what they could do with them these days!

If they used Klingons, do you suppose they'd use the type from.....

                  A). The Original Series

B). The more bumpy headed one from ST:TMP and everything else thereafter, or

C). The kind you get when you use really cheap toilet paper?

This actually disappoints me. It means no one will be screaming "KHHHAANNNN!!!" in the new movie. I was looking forward to that.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Glad they're not using Khan again so soon. No need to rehash a storyline that was already handled so well in Space Seed and Wrath Of Khan.

I would like to see Klingons, too.
The deleted scene from the first movie with the Klingons in helmets intrigued me, and I really want to see how they handle them in the new Trek franchise.
