Del Toro out! But is Khan the Villain in Star Trek?

Well, Vulture http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment...quel-khan.html is still adamant that Khan is indeed the Villain in the new movie. Latino Review is also convinced the Khan is the baddie http://www.latinoreview.com/news/exc...r-trek-2-15528 .

So, whether we agree or not Khan should be in the next movie...he could very well be the Villain. While I think Del Toro is a GREAT actor, he doesn't look like Khan to me. Another actor who's name keeps getting thrown around for the part is Nester Carbinell, who I think LOOKS more like Khan and would be my pick for the role.:thumbup:

Agreed! And as far as "re-casting" and using Khan...I'm all for it! Khan was one of the greatest Villains of all time. Some people think Khan shouldn't be recast because Ricardo Montalbán owned the role...but they also successfully re-cast the entire TOS crew and it doesn't get any harder than that!

I think it's too soon for Khan. Maybe by film 3. Khan is dependably bankable but it doesn't mean you're going to get a ST II type adventure.

But seriously, I love the Doomsday Machine. I like Nestor Carbinell, but he always looks like he went way too heavy on the eyeshadow!!!

Nestor is a very fine character actor he was very good as the Mayor of Gotham in The Dark Knight 2008 .probably will reprise his role for The Dark Knight Rises 2012? but theirs a 6 to 8 year gap between the 2 films when they take place

Benicio is overratted as an actor I never have thought he is that good just lucky right place right time! JJ Abrams is making good choice not going with him

I hope the bad guy is a mutated half Human-half Tribble, caused by transporter malfunction, and played by William Shatner. His wig makes him the perfect candidate...
