^Yeah, that was my only gripe with the film at all. Totally unnecessary. Not sure how Nero could have changed the timeline to have THAT happen.

I don't ask for much.. {seriously..}, but I'll be happy if they DON'T have any villains with stupid tattoos on their faces.

It's just gettin' old and lame.
            Peace.. Through Superior Firepower.

I know it will never happen but they should get Shat to play the villian

              Hmmmm, Shat as Harry Mudd

Agreed. I think they should have a Klingon as the bad guy for 2.

I may be one of the few people here who havent seen the new Star Trek movie. Should I? I really like the original series and the movies (for the most part) but I still wonder if I will hate it...

It's like a cross between a big budget fan produced Star Trek movie and a SNL Star Trek sketch.

It's watchable, but it aint the real Star Trek

Khan was played by a latino originally, so maybe they feel it's tradition.

I'm sure I'm in an extreme minority here, but JJ's Star Trek is my favorite movie in the last decade. Just perfect casting and a very interesting and fun script. It's not perfect(spock and Uhura) but it's a perfect blend of contemporary scifi action and the spirit of the original cast films. Once I finally break down and buy a blu-ray, this is the first movie I buy along with Predator.

Dude you can't go wrong with this movie.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.
