I want to see limbs being torn off, tendons and veins spraying blood. Blood and guts. Come on, now!!

I want to see brilliant military tactics and maneuvers, and I want to see the gore on the battlefield. I want to see the underdog win against all odds. I want to cheer for a victory well earned. Is that too much to ask for?

I think a sequel needs to take place at least 10 years later.......the apes have developed their own culture in the redwood forest and had lots of young. mankind was decimated by the plague and now the apes start venturing out and there is a war for supremacy

proving the following statement is 100% spot on

Incidentally, in reality, chimpanzees are more warlike than gorillas.

I think that's like wishing for a single sequel and an end of the franchise. That might be a thrill ride for us, but no one's taking their kids to that. I also think critics would decimate it as furry porn for angry geeks. I want this franchise to do well, and solid writing is the way.

If this movie is really a prequel, I'd like to see a few movies that show the development of how the earth became the way it was in POTA and Beneath. Maybe apes did all retreat into the wilderness. The plague could have set off human wars, including use of nuclear weapons. As Dr. Z said "The forbidden zone was once a paradise, your breed made a desert of it ages ago." As far as why the Apes were so primitive in POTA and Beneath, the Orangutans eventually took control of Ape society. Maybe they rejected all technology and kept ape society at a horse and wagon society, as in POTA. The orangutans also eventually erased records of humans ever being in control from their scrolls and history books.
There are a lot of ideas that can be explored in the sequels.

For a series that superficially seems cheesy--talking apes that wear clothing--it has always struck me as more cerebral that visceral. I'm no prude, either--I have no problem with violence that serves a purpose, it's just that I'm also a realist about the financial fallout from taking little Johnny to a movie in which chimps might be disemboweling people.

A nuclear war will not make sense in this new adaptation.

Nuclear holocaust will take out the apes just as easily as humans.

Was Rise rated PG in the US?
Here in Oz it was rated M... but then our film ratings board are a bunch of dummies.

                            I was expecting a full-blown ape revolt.
Instead we got Sit-in on the Planet of the Apes
