Transformers III now being pummeled by critics...

Transformers 2 ranks among the worst movies I've ever seen. I'm not sure if I want to see this one but everyone I know keeps telling me "it should be way better." I was going to go tonight since I'm off work but I'm soooo tired from my day I just don't care. -
I don't think anyone's perception of Transformers is going to be changed by what a critic thinks. People know the brand, and unless the Transformers people have all gone mad they're going to deliver what people expect. 2+ hours of robots exploding things with a bit of comedy and cheesecake tossed in.
I think the main thing that hurt Green Lantern is that people didn't know the brand, and the marketing and promotion of the film didn't help them understand it. Almost none of my friends are comic guys - and I got TONS of questions about Green Lantern from people based on the ads. They just didn't get it.
If critics loved it - like "Iron Man" - maybe that would have helped GL - but that's hard to say. There's plenty of movies critics generally like that audiences ignore too.Leave a comment:

Currently sitting at 33%. Jeez. Perhaps people will ignore the critics this time and just have fun like they should have with Lantern. It's hard to understand what critics are looking for in sci-fi films when you read they're assessment. I guess they need meaning in their lives for fantasy? From what I have seen in the trailer, it looks like a fun ride. There should at least be an expectation by now since it comes from the same creative team as the past two films. Hard to understand why critics keep looking for the hidden novel where there shouldn't be one.
It's kind of like going to a slasher film and complaining about the mindless violence. Really?
You have to ask yourself what chance does Captain America have now? Critics buried Lantern, then snarled at Cars 2, now they hate Transformers 3. Will audiences be too jaded to check out Captain America? I hope not.

I have always had a bit of hatred towards Bay Since he Fd up Pearl Harbor in 2001 what an epic Historical film that could have been?Last edited by kennermike; Jun 28, '11, 2:30 PM.Leave a comment:

I walked out about 10 minutes before the end of the first Transformers movie. It showed no signs of ending and a didn't care who won.Leave a comment:

I already have my ticket for tonight and I can't wait. Critics are morons and rotten tomatoes is too busy trying to be trendy. A sequel by it's nature will not have much plot it's a fomula. So long as I see robots changing forms and good robot brawls that's all I need
Transformers also gets backlash from those who hate the concept as a toy film and those who feel Bay betrays their G1 image of transformers
kind of like Jurrasic park 2 and 3 sure they had no plot but people got eaten by dinos even faster.Leave a comment:
