Seen it already. Pure garbage. So was Green Lantern... Both were absolutely painful. I want the late 70's and early 80's back... Give me "Alien", "The Thing", "Blade Runner", "Predator", "Conan", "ET", "Star Wars", "Halloween" and "The Terminator" over any of today's crap any day.

saw it last night great fun. Lots of robots beating each other up and mayhem abounds. Bay true to form has lots of city drestroying explosions but it is fun and after all he's Michael Bay.
Might be a bit scary/violent for younger kids - people get trampled and incinerated in the film at times
what I did find a bit dissapointing was that they never show why the new autobots adopted NASCAR racecar forms - a missed backtory scene but maybe it was covered in a graphic novel I was unaware of

Peter Cullen was excellent as always as optimus and Frank Welker (cartoon megatron) voices soundwave
got exactly what i expected and it's way better than the 2nd one, PLot is thinner than #1 but more robots and fights so who cares
the VS model is smoking hot but really does even less to move the plot that Megan Fox did in #1 or 2 so she is eye candy for it's own purpose
no spoliers per se but a long time TF fan may see the sting coming early on. I make it a point not to read advances on the plot or cast to keep these films enjoyable for me but i guessed what was coming about half way through

I saw #1 Could not make out the good guy from the bad ones during a fight, This factor was worse for #2. I thought #1 was at best ok. Number #2 I thought was really sucky, liked the Species like alien girl, which by the way made no sense. I dont expect much from this one as well. plus, I miss Megan Fox. I like her, she is a looker. One of the problems I have with this series. is that they changed the look of the robots a bit to much, I believe the faces and bodies should resemble the Cartoons. What ya all think?

My kids watched the midnight show and LOVED it! They said it was the best in the series. Well, we'll see if that's a minority opinion or if it holds with others.

I may go check it out next week on 1/2 price day at the local theatre. I heard how bad #2 was and have not seen it or rented it. Saw #1 in the theaters and even tho it was a tad long I liked it's epic scope. There was a lot of ground to cover and you needed a long film for #1 to satisfy.

Thor had mostly positive reviews...it received an overall 78% fresh rating...so it's not about critics hating these types of films...it's about hating bad films, period. Thor was a good film...directed by a fine filmmaker...Kenneth Branagh.

Michael Bay on the other hand is a hack.

I think Captain America has a good shot of being well received.

I'm with the critics on this one.

I watched the first one...and I have no more need to watch it again...and I HATED the second one...so the odds are that this one is gonna blow too.

We're watching it tomorrow. If the kids have a blast, I'm good. I expected to fall asleep watching Cars 2, but I was pleasantly surprised. If I have little or no expectation, then I won't be disappointed. If anything, I can get an expensive nap out of it.

I think it looks OK, not blow away good, not horrible just good enough to be worth the price of admission. Which when awful movies come out regularly you couldn't pay me to watch is good enough for me.

^ I read somewhere there was a scene filmed with the Twins but it didn't makle the cut.

I'll go see it. I don't put much stock in reviews since the ones reviewing are just ordinary people.

If they put the Autobot Twins in this one I will boycott it forever, but if not I'll give it a chance. Not since Jar Jar Binks had there been such annoying characters in a movie, CGI or otherwise. The second one was pretty bad to begin with, but they almost made it unwatchable.

I have issues with critics, but of all of the films and franchises to lambast critics over, the Michael Bay Transformers films are not the ones. They are horrible. I like good action films. I like Alien, Aliens, Terminator, Terminator 2, Die Hard, Predator, Spider-Man and tons of others. The Michael Bay Transformers films are crap. It has nothing to do with turning one’s “brain off” and loosening up. Michael Bay makes genuinely crappy films and has hit right note only once or twice.

It’s also pretty sad people equate sci-fi with crap. Because sci-fi is like any genre: It can be good or bad. And Michael Bay makes crap films. Kind of like how there was an awesome Spider-Man film made by Sam Raimi and now there is a wretched musical that nobody I know cares about.

Anything will be better than part 2. I'm not surprised about critics though. I don't really care about what they say.Their tastes aren't in line with what I consider a great movie.
