    TRON: Legacy

Saw this yesterday on IMAX 3D, it's visually stunning and it sounds incredible ( Daft Punk!), but IMO the story drags a bit and is probably confusing if you aren't familiar with the original. The simplicity of the first TRON gives way here to a deeper Matrix-like pretence, but it tends to outsmart itself along the way.

Being a solid Tron fan from '82 I still enoyed every minute of this one, and loved a couple of scenes (Michael Sheen absolutely Bowies the house down!), but I'll be interested in what everyone else thinks.

I'm a HUGE fan of the original. Have the original figures MOC and enjoy watching it every so often. I do have a question - How convincing were the effects showing a young Jeff Bridges? And did they pull any of the other actors in from the original? Did the guy that played the original Tron make a cameo? Those are the things I would love to know. I'm taking my son
    to see it Saturday.

I saw the action figures a few days ago. His face lights up and he "talks". Kinda cute.

Saw the 3D version on Monday. I was pretty bored by it. The visuals and sound were fantastic, though the 3D was mostly non-existent. The story was too far up it's own arse, sort of like the Matrix sequels. I hope it does well, but I think people might reject it. I think people who love the first might enjoy it, but that's a small percentage of the population.

Tron - Bruce Boxlitener is in the new film in the clips I've seen his real world character initiates the son's search for Flynn. I don't know if the "Tron" character is there.
I would have loved to see David Warner as Sarc. He is such a sci fi staple

I kinda liked it, but I'm a huge TRON fan. Even so, it drags a lot... Sadly, this will not play to a general audience. It will be a box office disappointment for Disney, big time.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Wow. Coming from you that bums me out. I value your opinion in movies. Like my bud John Eaves, you have a good eye for quality since you have an intimate knowledge of the craft. Hmmmm. Well, as a Tron fan, do they work out some continuity from the first one which long time fans will appreciate? Are the 3D effects overrated or pretty good? They look good on the small screen, which is unique for me, because I seldom like previews since their typically not at the proper resolution to appreciate on a high def television.

If the reviews are bad or not still gonna go check it out with my three year old son. I introduced Tron to him two weeks ago and now he likes the light cycles and the bright colors!

I should clarify. The movie was decent, just boring for me. There's no cringeworthy moments. It does suffer from any lack of character development for the son, though. I was hoping this would be a big movie, but I just don't see the general public getting into it.

I just got back from seeing Tron Legacy in 3D very intresting film .Its very good film for Joe Kosinski whos background is architecture and not film School and never had really done anything its amazing how Disney gave him $200 million to make this but he's good.Im 39 you can come at this film in 2 different ways if your a fan of the orginal your gonna love it under 25 maybe?it did drag at parts but I enjoyed it cause I love Dialoge between true actors like Jeff Bridges and it wasnt all razzle dazzle the score was phenomenal Daft Punk took a a page from John Carpenter and took it to another level while adding a actual symphony to some of their work.I may talk more about it later but dont want to give spoilers will wait for more people to see it
