I don't know, seems to me a happily ever after ending would have been a safe and easy ending.
Through it's entire 6 years Lost has never taken the safe or easy route in it's many story arcs or any of the directions it has gone in.

I will say that I'm not a total hater of the entire episode....There were tons of great character beats and moments....which I thought was leading up to something fantastic. Instead it was a bit of a let-down and anti-climatic....

Anthony, how would you have liked it to end then?

I would have preferred a happily ever after in the sideways universe as a strictly alternate timeline...the whole purgatory thing blows IMO....I also thought that as far as the island storyline went, The Man in Black went out too easily considering how much he was the Big Bad throughout the series and especially in this last season.

Honestly, that ending blows.

But, I can also say that I'm honestly not surprised.

This whole season sucked and as I said before...they should have ended it with Juliette's Nuke Detonation last season.

Yeah, I'm exhausted and emotionally drained after watching that 2 1/2 hour final and I am ready to go to sleep...but...not until after Jimmy Kimmel

I was skeptical of this season -- but I have to say they did a really great job with the finale. awesome show!
