I wonder if part of the purpose of the sideways universe is to show that paths will cross and certain situations happen (such as Locke's spinal injury and Hurley winning the lottery) regardless of whether Jacob or whoever interferred or not....

Part of the whole science vs. faith debate.....

I think this might be the breakdown for the upcoming spotlight characters:

      Feb. 23: Claire *
      Mar. 2: Sayid *
      Mar. 9: Ben
      Mar. 16: Sawyer
      Mar. 23: Richard
      Mar. 30: Sun & Jin
      Apr. 6: ???
      Apr. 13: Hurley

      * These are guesses on my part based on who is featured in the plot synopsis

I wonder if Richard's episode will be a flashback or if it will be a sideways? If he was on island in '77 when Jughead exploded, then he shouldn't have a sideways.

It freaks me out how few episodes are left. When you consider they are spending half an episode in sideways flashback---and there are SO MANY questions to resolve--well, I hope the flashbacks are more than filler or an interesting diversion, I hope they factor into the whole thing. They are interesting, they are well told and well acted, but what bearing do they have on what we've seen before and what we want to know?

^ Here's a few questions I'd like to get answers to before the end..... Not necessarily in order of importance:

          1) How'd a Dharma Polar Bear skeleton get in the Tunisian desert? (Tunisia is the "exit" when someone moves the donkey wheel...Did the bear turn the wheel?)
          2) Adam and Eve skeletons?
          3) The Black Rock?
          4) Who's good and who's bad? Ben, Widmore, MIB, Jacob.....
          5) MIB's backstory...same for Richard and Jacob
          6) What's the dilly-o with Walt? (Waaaaaaaalllllllt!)
          7) What are the whispers?
          8) Aaron....Is he important still or doesn't matter anymore?
          9) What's Eloise Hawkins deal?
          10) Who does Kate choose? Jack or Sawyer?

How many episodes are left? I also read, that the writers even mentioned that not everything will be answered.

I think there's 18 episodes for the season....so that means 15 left to go....

As a fellow fat guy...I gotta ask this...

How come the fat guy in Lost is still fat?

Aren't they on a deserted island with absolutely no fast food joints around?

They found plenty of food and snacks from the Dharma Initiative and Hurley was in charge of the food so he ate a lot of it.

Hurley was only "on-island" for 100 days before he was one of the rescued Oceanic Six....during that time, they found The Hatch, which was stock-piled with food from Dharma Initiative food-drops. And yes, Hurley was in charge of rationing the food and had his own secret stash for a while.

Once he was rescued, Hurley was living in LA for 3 years before returning to the island again. At which point he time-dropped into Dharmaville in the 70s and was given the job of cook.

But I would think why Hurley hasn't dropped any weight should be the least of our worries....Helloooooo?! Smoke Monster, Whispers, Giant Four-Toed Statue, Jacob......

Here is what I hope they answer

                      * Who/ What is Jacob (and MIB)
                      * What are the "Rules" and who set them?
                      * What is the island? Just an island??
                      * Who is Richard and why did Jacob make him not age?
                      * Why do the others worship Jacob; what is their purpose?
                      * Who is telling the truth Widmore or Ben
                      * In what way and why did Ben change when he was healed by the "Others"
                      * What is the infection? And why do only certain people get infected?
                      * Why do pregnant woman die and what did it have to do with the story of the island?
                      * Who was Christian speaking for Jacob or MIB?
                      * Explain what the bomb explosion exactly did - why did the past change?
                      * Why was the island underwater
                      * What happened to Desmond and Penny?

When the bomb exploded in '77 it sank the island....presumably killing anyone on the island, including Jacob. If Jacob wasn't around to manipulate and touch the lives of the 815ers, then a LOT of things seemed to have changed. Jacob appears to be the type of fellow that had his hands in many pies, so to speak....

Yeah, but Ben was on the island in 1977 and should have been killed. Yet, in sideways, he is a teacher.

Oh, that's such a good point. His dad took him to the island in 74...

I think it's too obvious that the bomb sank the island. Don't ask me what the alternative is.

They were in the process of evacuating women and children in the sub before the bomb was detonated....it's possible Ben was on that sub?
