I never had a problem with Vulcan having been in space longer than earth. I always thought the Vulcan species a bit older than humanity also. Plus it is canon that the vulcans that became the Romulans left Vulcan thousands of years before TOS, which means the Vulcans have had some form of space travel for centuries.sigpic

>First Contact Cochran is clearly not the same character as the Cochran we've seen in the Classic Series.
In the original story he's not even an Earthling; he's from Alpha Centauri.
>The whole ending with Vulcan having space travel ability and coming to Earth was against Classic lore.
Kinda. The Vulcans had space travel first, and had met a few races prior to Terrans and Centauri.
>The Borg having a "Queen" goes against everything the Borg is.
THAT bothered me, since yeah; they're supposed to be non-individual components of a collective. Carrying around a spare nekkid chick kinda goes against the grain. But by then they'd already gone down the "what is love?" route, AND created two different tribes of Borg, so it was kinda more of the same for me by the film's time.

I have one more thing I want to say, in this, the latest TREK thread
to touch upon the whole series of movies...
Not only do I love THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY, and not only is it possibly
the best of all the Trek films, but, I'm convinced thatr the funniest
moment in Trek history occurs in this movie.
General Chang: [prosecuting] Doctor McCoy. What is
your current medical status?
McCoy: Well, aside from a touch of arthritis, I'd say pretty good.
[some scattered laughter from the audience; McCoy smiles, but sees
Chang, unsmiling]"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment
