The only Next Gen movie I can watch is First Contact.

I thought Generations was dreadful .... The only part worth watching was the Kirk, Scotty, Chekov part at the beginning... Everything else was like watching a crappy Next Gen TV episode.

Insurrection was crazy boring and unwatchable --- It made Star Trek The Motion Picture look action packed.

Nemisis was a waste of film - They should make convicted criminals watch this movie as punishment ...

I think the difference between INSURRECTION and NEMESIS was
that a "relaxed fan" of TNG could actually glean some kind of fun
and/or interest in INSURRECTION...kinda like watching an average
TNG show...decent presentation of the classic TNG characters
without being too spectacular of a planned out plot...
NEMESIS, I'm thinking failed even on THAT level...sad...but for an offshoot
of the Trek franchise that exceeded everyone's expectations anyway...
it closed out a nice run.

It was a really good next gen episode....didn't have enough meat for a movie IMO

Well, I can't help but think that in many instances, it's merely the only TNG
movie that can wrassle the TOS crew hardcores from not accepting a
"less than great movie" from a Trek group other than the TOS crew,
while they still tolerate messes like ST5.
I even get that vibe from this very thread.

There was some things that bugged me about First Contact when it first came out - as i'm sure most hardcore Trekkers were bugged for the same reasons ...

First Contact Cochran is clearly not the same character as the Cochran we've seen in the Classic Series.

The whole ending with Vulcan having space travel ability and coming to Earth was against Classic lore.

The Borg having a "Queen" goes against everything the Borg is.

Today I can accept this stuff much easier considering looking back it was rather tame considering what Berman did to the Star Trek universe lore in more recent years.

I never suspected the Trek franchise used him before. (I'm sure you're
                          not surprised. Ha.)

Even without being a big TOS Trek fan, I still had a feeling that was
                          a bit of a reach.

Wellllll...I kinda have the philosophy that all humans, if they were summed up
into one conscioiusness, it would be what some would call "God".
So that's a kinda simillar analogy.

Stillll.....after she was destroyed that shoulda put an end to the Borg, I'd think----or, at the least, it'd be a major upheaval of the culture/race
...quite a move to make with one of Trek's most popular races...
then again, the whole Praxis thing was a pretty big upheaval
                          for the Klingons in ST6.

Granted. I hope a sequel is a bit slowed down . I was bored yet felt like having a seizure at some of the more over the top busy cgi scenes.

I'm sure were looking at Klingons since they were noticably absent. I guess since they can do what they want Borg etc is free to be toyed with SEND IN THE GORN.

Old spock flying around shooting phasers in his little ship just made me laugh I kept thinking of SPace Invaders for some reason. I know movies have gotten more video game like but that was much.

The francise lives on. It didnt dir like Planet of the Apes ( murdered actually) or take a nice long needed break like Dr Who.

Question? What year did old Spock come from in "our " original universe?

IDW published a prequel comic and I think it was 20 years or so after the events in Nemesis.

As for the Vulcans having space travel before the Earth, there was a novel that talked about that as part of it's plot and it was out maybe 5 years or so before First Contact. I think it might have been called First Contact as well, but had nothing to do with TNG crew or the Borg.

In the new Trek, is the planet that Kirk finds Spock on supposed to be the same planet they left Gary Mitchell on or are they just two different planets with the same name of Delta Vega?
                              It's all good!
