i was never a fan of JJ's TV works except for Lost's earlier seasons but IMHO he did a really great job with Star Trek. So a sequel? Hell, YEAH!!

Titan is the starship Riker captains at the end of nemsis.You never see it but he leaves at the end of nemisis taking with him troi, tuvok(voyager) also goes to titan and so do a few other TNG crew members.

It is a series of novels but there was fleeting talk of a movie.

This is gonna sound lame, but even tho' I truly do
like TNG a lot---and I even was cool with INSURRECTION,
I still missed NEMESIS in the theatres, and every time I try
to watch NEMESIS at home it loses me on the most part.

NOW it makes sense why "Titan" is so key to the NG "universe"
I should know so well.

Have faith hue I'm sure picard will fly again,just give it time.Now that Berman is gone anything could be awesome in trekverse.

because I think this "new" TOS is too powerful

I see your point yes you were right on some aspects some not so much but not a big issue you do have the jist of it.

Right back at ya...and I think we've overcome some obstacles here
to indeed see that we can understand much of our "typed out sentiments"

Tos fan yes,TNG not really the movies were not bad but they stepped it up a notch.
I do understand entirely that kirks death was a passing of the torch ,but it was poorly executed to say the least.Talk to me in ten years when picard passes the torch and he dies from his plastic heart failing while drinking earl grey and tell me you don't feel robbed...LOL.

Yeah---I guess--I don't want to sound like I'm looking at your stance
here as "overly fan boy" or anything...but I think my connection
with Picard is fluid enough that I could handle it like simillar to Kirk's death
"diluted" as it was by another cast involved and what came with it.

IN FACT....I'm only "slightly irked" that there will most likely
never BE a "Picard death scene" because his lack of popularity
doesn't warrant it.

That either speaks volumes on TNG's lacking
or TOS' incredible endurance in pop culture
or a combo of both.

Why? Cause riker kicks Butt,Picard is to diplomatic for my taste.

Picard did start to kick butt in the movies but it was too late for me by then.

Which brings me back to ST 12 I think they could go to a titan movie then
back to new tos crew for 13.

referring to Picard as "some bald dude" sounds pretty "diminishing"
or "dismissive" to me---
and that's the same difference in me calling you on that description of Picard
----and you really must see what I mean by that EVEN if your words

Having the same cranial appearance doesn't excuse that

Well, I'm 37...and I think that pretty much
anyone AROUND our age COULD feasibly be considered "old schoolers"
for Trek, even if we weren't adults when it first aired.

I pretty must just PRESUMED you were a longtime Trek-type fan
that went way back before TNG appeared on the horizon.

See, personally, I didn't "really" become interested in Trek-lore
until about a few seasons into TNG---so I thought you were more
a "KIRK/TOS" guy than you could ever be Picard or TNG.

And i consider THAT an "old schooler" personally. While me, I'd consider
MYSELF a "later on" guy.

The problem I have had with TNG is it failed on all counts except the ending of the series.

The show should have been about the journey the exploration it was not it was a touchy feely 90's PC crap fest.
That is why I like TOS better and for that matter I also liked wait for it....Enterprise.

And my only point was that you despising TNG as a series
has a LOT to do with how YOU view Kirk's death

Truth be told if shat makes it to the next one I'll still go see it.I just don't feel it is necessary to move on with the franchise.
But hey who know maybe they can go back in time or forward I guess now and stop the whole nexus deal before it even happens thus saving old kirk.
reuniting old spock and old kirk together again.
