KHAN Should be the Big Bad in the next Trek film.

Makes sense doesn't it? Second film in the new franchise?

They can reinvent the original Space Seed storyline.

Only question is, who should play Khan? Benecio Del Torro? Chiwetel Ejiofor? CGI Riccardo Montleban?

I was thinking the same thing myself this afternoon, including who could pull off Khan. Then I realized these guys need to "go where the old show didnt go before". If they start just reworking the episodes and films that came before, this is going to get old quick.

Lets get back to exploring the big unknowns of the final frontier!

Ah...but they wouldn't be remaking "The Wrath Of Khan"...they would be retelling "Space Seed".

no, I agree with the Captain, they need to steer clear of old storylines and keep it fresh. Besides, WOK is such a classic it would be sacriligeous. Space Seed too.

No way. If they want to go back to the original series well, let them do something with the mirror verse. I would even get a kick out of them resurrecting Shatner and having a trifecta of TOS, TNG, and the refakes. Some alternate timeline/alternate history/space-time continuum extravaganza. Before all the old actors croak.

I kind of like the idea of the thought of the whole pre Star Fleet handling of the Kahn Mythos.

For a brand new franchise they need new bad guys not a rehash of the ones we know.

A Trek franchise I'd like to see would be set in the time after the Borg have defeated Star Fleet, and the non-assimilated are waging a guerilla war. I am fed up with the whole Politically Correct Bull$_it that is the Prime Directive.

That's probably why I liked DS9 and Voyager way better than the Next Generation. I wanted to see a disrupter used on Wesley sooo bad, then watch it turned on the writers...

When TNG came out, there were some really entertaining "Wesley has a slow, painful death" scenarios written in Trek fandom. I don't remember too much of the details but one had the TNG crew accidentally reawakening Gary Mitchell and he not only kills Wesley (in a gruesome fashion) but the rest of the crew in funny and gruesome ways.

Can we agree No More Time Travel plots?

I think Trek movies have used up all their allotment of Time Travel.
