    SyFy Channel?!

Why does the Scifi Channel need to "broaden it's appeal"?

Science Fiction has proven to be a broad and viable mainstream genre. They have a very wide niche already and have proven they do it very well.

Sci-Fi jumped the shark years ago. I miss the Cartoon Quest, and Pilot Playhouse, Series collection, and the daily shows like Lost In Space, Voyage to the Bottom of The Sea, SMDM, Bionic Woman, Beauty & The Beast, and all those old movies! The occasional new movie was OK, but now that's all they play! It sucks!

As bad as Sci-Fi has become it's no where as bad as what G4 has become.

Yeah, I don't like that one anymore either. I miss Star Trek 2.0.

I'm lost here. Is "SyFy" a nickname for something? It just looks like an incorrect way to write SciFi. I'm not sure how that will bring in a wider audience.
                It's all good!

Quoted for truth. SciFi has been screamingly bad the past few years (Flash Gordon anyone?). Only thing I watch on it is Doctor Who. Otherwise, to phooey with it.

G4, man, what the HELL happened to that channel? It used to be all computers and gaming stuff, and now you still have X-Play (barely watch that - Morgan Webb looks almost TOO good ever since she got married. I miss her girl next door looks) and COPS reruns. Are you freakin' kidding me?

It's like MTV - back in the day, SciFi and Tech Tv (G4) used to be something special. All three stood out and were somewhat rebellious, but now they're so dull and lifeless.
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

Almost every cable channel is more fun in their infancy, Sci Fi was awesome in the 90s, in the 80s comedy channel and Ha! were just full of odd, improvised shows like MST3k and "Higgins Boys and Gruber". Then it seems the channels switch gears and become mini networks, you still get some good stuff but when you try to crawl out of niche, you become less special...

I just hope Canadas Space channel is immune to this. Granted, Space is a shadow of what it was, and could be, but at least it hasnt fallen into the trap of showing 21/2 Men, King of Queens, and Fraser reruns over and over and over and over again!! (Which I have a feeling is what Sci-fi/SyFy is going to end up doing...?)

SyFy just looks stupid. Like some dumb misspelled nickname a teenager would use to text someone.
There was a period of a few years that I didn't have cable. When I last had Sci-Fi it was Six Million Dollar Man, etc like stated above. Then about 5 years later I got cable again and it was quite sucky. I used to call it the Stargate Channel since it seemed that was the only thing that was ever on when I tuned in.
The same time period changed a couple other channels I used to enjoy. TLC used to be sort of a sister History/Discovery channel and then it was some sort of stupid Home & Garden type channel (Trading Spaces??? ). Then there was fx channel. That was cool with live shows (Jeff Probst, Tom Bergeron & Phil Keogan <sp?> started there) and 70's reruns.

Yeah like that one they've got coming up call "I Am Omega". Seems they don't know whether to call it an Omega Man or I Am Legend remake. I know both movies are basically the same but hopefully people will get my point,it's just another piece of garbage airing on there.
