90% of Godzilla movies are low budget movies with rather pedestrian box office returns.

The cheapest King Kong production was King Kong vs Godzilla...another Japanese low budget flick, $2.7 mil Box Office in the US, earth shattering.

All of the stand alone Kong movies have been big production movies.

More does not equate to profitability.

I think a lot of how the battle will go down depends on which MUTO, Godzilla or Kong, finds out the other MUTO's mother is named "Martha" as well. Then they'll skip off into the sunset together.
