Universal had stopped making horror films of this type by that time. Thats when i guess it became a big hit on television.

That is correct. It was technically the last film using an existing storyline with the Universal monsters. They also wrote some novels as a continuation of that film back in the 90's, for those who wonder what might have happened. They're actually pretty good too. I think I have three of them.Comment

Oh man I've never watched that...just looked at some hd clips on YouTube , brilliant. We had a comedy duo in the 80's called , cannon and ball and they clearly have based themselves on bud and Lou....Comment

Great movie. It was a fun, silly, spooky, movie and the Monsters were still threated with respect. It's a classic.You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. A true classic, movies like this are not made any more. I must have seen this about 20 times or more when, I was a child, I remember seeing them on sunday mornings, they ran Abbott and Costello movies every sunday on ch 11. I saw some of it on ThisTV today.Comment

Abbott and Costello were a huge part of my childhood as it may have been for many people who watched them on Sunday morning on WPIX and during the week when they gave the Abbott and Costello show.........Comment
