Universal had stopped making horror films of this type by that time. Thats when i guess it became a big hit on television.

That is correct. It was technically the last film using an existing storyline with the Universal monsters. They also wrote some novels as a continuation of that film back in the 90's, for those who wonder what might have happened. They're actually pretty good too. I think I have three of them.

It's a great movie. Wonderful balance of comedy and horror.
THIS tv has been airing it. It was on today for uh, Thanksgiving.
            Better late than never.....

Oh man I've never watched that...just looked at some hd clips on YouTube , brilliant. We had a comedy duo in the 80's called , cannon and ball and they clearly have based themselves on bud and Lou....

Great movie. It was a fun, silly, spooky, movie and the Monsters were still threated with respect. It's a classic.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

A true classic, movies like this are not made any more. I must have seen this about 20 times or more when, I was a child, I remember seeing them on sunday mornings, they ran Abbott and Costello movies every sunday on ch 11. I saw some of it on ThisTV today.

Mego should have made a box set of the Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein dolls! (Bud, Lou, Frankie, Dracula, Wolfman, Invisible Man, etc)

If the Abbott and Costello mego set was ever made, that probably could have been more valuable than any other mego (AE/SI, RM Robin, etc)

Would have been highly collectible......I'm amazed how many Abbott and Costello fans I've met over the years and you would be competing against non toy collectors.....

Abbott and Costello were a huge part of my childhood as it may have been for many people who watched them on Sunday morning on WPIX and during the week when they gave the Abbott and Costello show.........
